Re: The VINYL Thread!

If you had said this 20 years ago I may have agreed with you. I really think this vinyl resurgence will continue to grow.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

The more I look into the Record Doctor X, the more I'm impressed. Not crazy about the price tag, though, so I'm going to continue with the Spin-Clean for now. Unless the Otter community would like to...

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Yeah, their quality control can leave a lot to be desired unfortunately. At least the concert portion sounds great from what I've heard so far.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Finally dropped the needle on this. I thought the studio album sounded okay ... albeit a little dirty (even after cleaning). I didn't realize the vinyl was pressed in the Czech Republic, which may...

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Anyone else heading out for Record Store Day tomorrow? I'll be lining up early at one of our local record shops looking to pick up The Tragically Hip: Live At CBGB's, as well as a few Jazz albums I...

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I use a Spin-Clean (but it's the clear, fancy 45th Anniversary Edition and not the ordinary, regular yellow one, don't ya know) ...

Re: Billy Joel -- "Turn The Lights Back On" -- first single in 17 years

Yeah, by the time The Bridge came out his hair was receding. Speaking of, my teenage self was simply blown away by his performance on Late Night (with The World's Most Dangerous Band) back in '86 ......

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Toby Dramit here ... I did get it but haven't listened to it yet. After I pick up a few more albums on Record Store Day, I'll be giving The Who and about a dozen other vinyl LPs a thorough cleaning...

re: The Night Manager (BBC/Amazon) -- S: Hiddleston

The first season was excellent all around. I don't know if they'll be able to duplicate it, though, as the casting was top notch. Curious to see.

Re: The Hot Spot. D: Dennis Hopper. S: Don Johnson. Jennifer Connelly. Virginia Madsen.

I love this movie ... perfect steamy summer viewing guilty pleasure (like Wild Things). I have both the Kino Lorber and Radiance Films blu-rays in my collection ... :)

My only quibble would be ......

Re: 40th Anniversary of Alien - May 25

I saw this in the theatres back when it first came out. I wasn't old enough to get in on my own so I talked my mom into taking me. Needless to say it was not her kind of movie ...

Re: Joe Flaherty dead at 82

Loved him on SCTV. His bits with Andrea Martin were among the best on the show. He'll be missed.

Re: Euphoria (HBO) -- S: Zendaya -- premieres 6/16/19

I thought it was good. Angus Cloud (RIP) was a standout. Zendaya was excellent, too. Not an upbeat show by any means but worth your time, IMO. I think Sydney Sweeney expresses vulnerability very...

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I prefer black vinyl as well. Colored vinyl tends to sound worse. I understand the gimmick but I prefer substance over style when it comes to vinyl.

Re: What's your Unpopular Music Opinion?

Agree with this. I think the early 80s through the mid 80s produced a lot of great music. The post-punk era was a very creative and diverse period.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Cleaner and not as much grain is probably not a good thing. I thought Robert Harris did an excellent job on the restoration blu-ray.
