Interesting. Been some time since I watched the film but my reaction was the opposite -- I hated it until the end but loved the ending.

Thx, may check that out someday. Have usually enjoyed watching Dafoe's performances even in films I absolutely hated such as The Last Temptation of Christ.

I disliked the lead characters in Big Eyes - the phony husband who passed himself off as the creator of his spouse's artworks and the wimpish wife who let him get away with that for so many years....

Liked both Kubrick's adaptation and the 1997 TV mini-series which is more faithful to King's novel. Nicholson plays the lead character as somewhat unbalanced right from the beginning in the original...

Thx for mentioning that. Haven't re-watched Inglorious Basterds since it first came out on home video and didn't recall Bowie's song being used there. Will have to revisit.

Loved Bowie's rendition of "Putting Out Fire" that opens "Cat People". Nastassja Kinski was nice to look at. Other than those two things the film was pretty blah.
