Re: The Terminator: Remastered - 2/19/2013

No mono soundtrack, no sale. The 5.1 mix always makes me cringe, it sounds so false to me.

I can't believe it's a lack of disc space, so it must be laziness, or the 'HD effect'. If it's on blu...

Re: TITANIC 3D Blu-ray 4-disc collector's edition

I bought the 3D version - not realising it was on 2 discs. I'll sell mine on. For my money, I'd prefer one disc with more compression than 2 discs with better picture quality. Ideally they could...

Re: Blade/Blade Trinity - June 19th

Thanks Todd B.! It shows Blade as being in stock at my local Best Buy. I'll pick that up along with Barbarella tomorrow hopefully.

Re: Blade/Blade Trinity - June 19th

I'm very confused, for want of a better word, about the US release of Blade on blu ray.

My local Best Buy doesn't have it, and their website says backordered
It doesn't show on the Warner online...

Re: Sister Act 20th Anniversary/Sister Act 2 - June 19th

I'm not a fan of the 'two movies on one disc' approach (regardless of the format), and someone said the DVD's were the same old non-anamorphic discs. In case any blu ray fan-boys should ask why we...

WOOHOO! Barabarella on blu ray

I came to DVD Talk to try and find some info on the blu ray release of Barbarella. Apart from the 'blu ray release announcements' I didn't see anything, so I just wanted to say - I'm excited!

I...

Re: So which movies still need to hit DVD?

OK, I know it's a dreadful movie (IMDB rating 3.9), but 'He's My Girl' would amuse me on DVD. It 'stars' Jennifer Tilly, and her voice sends shivers down my spine.

Re: New DVD/BD copyright warning coming

It presumably will push more people towards downloads and streaming. I was thinking the other day, how would people react if they bought a CD and, as it started playing, had to listen to someone...

I still buy DVDs, but...

The benefits of DVD over videotape (and even laserdisc) were so obvious I can understand why it's such a popular format. I was far from convinced that I would be...

re: Multi-standard (PAL / NTSC) plasma TV?

It would depend on what you call a 'decent' multiregion DVD player. I have two, a modified Pioneer Elite DV-F07 300 disc changer, and a Sony portable DVD. Both output PAL when playing Region 2 or 4...

Multi-standard (PAL / NTSC) plasma TV?

Are there any plasma TVs generally available in the US that play PAL format DVD discs?

I haven't seen any, but wondered if anyone knew of one (or more) before I go to the 'world import' type sites...

Re: Just bought my first 3d Panasonic TV. Now need Glasses.

I bought a Panasonic 55" GT30 and although I didn't do any side by side comparisons with LCD TVs I'm really pleased I bought it. DVDs look good on it but I was very surprised at how good blu ray...
