Re: Ultimate List of 80s Slasher Horror Films

Also, Twisted Nightmare is actually from 1987, not 1982 and Cheerleader Camp 1988, not 1987.

Re: Ultimate List of 80s Slasher Horror Films

Wow, this really is an incredibly comprehensive list. I have 185 on the list, but there's actually a couple here I hadn't heard of before!

But here are a couple more relatively well-known...

Re: Favorite Harry Potter?

This poll is spot on with my opinion. Hallows 2, Azkaban and Goblet of Fire are easily the three best.

Re: Movie-related Tattoos: Got any? Want any?

I have the Dream Warriors from Nightmare on Elm Street on my back. It's basically the cover of the movie but edited to look more like the real characters in the film plus one added character.

Re: CHILLERAMA (2011) (dir. Adam Green, Joe Lynch, Tim Sullivan, Adam Rifkin)

Who is that actress in the Shocktilyourdop photo above? Looks a lot like Elaine Hendrix. Would LOVE to see her and Adam Rifkin team up on this, as they were both in LAST DANCE, one of my all-time...

Re: Love and Other Drugs (Zwick) - Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway

I agree with you, Vargo, very fun film and a little unconventional for your ever day romantic comedy. I think this film got overlooked because it does have a nice dramatic side to it, and doesn't...

Re: The Horror Film Club

Love The Prowler.

Primal wasn't very good imo.

But what was really good was Black Water, also an Australian croc movie!!

Very much looking forward to Reef, the same director's shark movie...

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Ticked-Off Trannies With Knives.

Highly recommended if you like old school, grindhouse exploitation and movies that are meant to be bad.

Re: Dreamworks' THE HELP

I think it'll get good reviews. For a book that purposefully drifts by like a warm Southern summer day, I was curious as to how they would pace the movie, but it moves along nicely. Not too fast,...

Re: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D (2012, some hack)

It is above and beyond the worst. I suppose that's why I like it. :(

Re: Alakaching! Harry Potter Breaks Midnight Record: Box Office 7/15-7/17

I was surprised by how much I loved this movie!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely recommend, easily the best in the series next to Prisoner of Azkaban (although Goblet of Fire's good, too).

If it does as good...

Re: "The Blob" Reviews/Discussion - 2010 Horror Challenge: Day 11

This is SUCH a great movie. Which is why I'm disappointed Zombie might be remaking it again.

This movie is perfectly cast, creepy, well-drawn characters...one of the best things to come out of...

Re: "Tourist Trap" Reviews/Discussion - 2010 Horror Challenge: Day 18

Creepy really is the perfect word to describe this film. People always compare it to TCM...

If the TCM makers were on an acid trip, then yes.

Such a strange horror film. But very good...

re: Scream 4 (Craven, 2011) - script by Williamson

Too many characters. Not enough character development.

Hated the re-cut scenes, why didn't they just leave Kevin Williamson's script be like they did when they made the original? Trust your...

Re: Rubber (2011, Quentin Dupieux)

I just added this to Netflix and so looking forward to seeing it!

No one is going to give this one any hassle for lacking originality.......... :)

I hear it's the same production company who...

Re: Movies where the female is supposed to be crazy hot but is not?

I always thought Sarah Jessica Parker was pretty in "Footloose" and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."

I think it's her presence that makes her appealing...plus I don't think her character in Sex & The...

Re: Insidious (2011)

I think this is one of the better horror movies in recent years. Doesn't rely on anything but old school, over-the-top scares and a simplistic, fluid story.

Kudos to the the makers of this film!

Re: Drive Angry 3D- Nicholas Cage as vengeance seeking father

It's a nonsensical action version of the amazing "My Bloody Valentine 3D" from the same team.

If you go in with zero expectations, you'll leave pleasantly surprised.

Heard STEALS the movie. As...

Dreamworks' THE HELP

Have any of you already read Stockett's book?

I listened to the audio version back in Christmas of '09 on a long drive to Texas for sixteen hours straight. So worth the experience!

And then...

Re: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D (2012, some hack)

Oh, and by the way--I actually thought Next Generation was the most creatively fun in the series. :)

Re: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D (2012, some hack)

Doesn't sound all that different from TCM: The Beginning. This franchise definitely needs some refreshing material, moreso than many others who get a lot more flack. I liked The Beginning okay but...

Re: 5nal Destination - The trend of putting numbers in titles continues

From everything I've heard--and I know a few people who have seen it in advance--this is going to be a good one.
