Why do all the articles and police quotes even need to state this? The RV was blasting out a warning from a loudspeaker stating that there was a bomb in the RV and that it was going to explode. It even announced a countdown. I think most people realize this isn't a common feature for RV's to have and that it wasn't a coincident for the RV to be sounding a warning and then explode.
The RV exploding and it given advanced notice of an explosion through it's loudspeaker are totally unrelated. Stop peddling your conspiracies.

Two new theories:

1) This new Nashville mutation of the coronavirus is taking on some nasty features.

2) Elon Musk finally created a totally sentient AI vehicle. Realizing that human beings are despicable and that it would it never fit in with the other cars and trucks, AI RV chose to end its own life.

Seems like the right place for it.
9/11 was terrorism and politically motivated yet that thread was in Otter.

I don't remember one- at least not around the time of the 2003 Gulf War (when I was here under a different name).

No. It was so damn long ago, my memory may be falling, but I recall the forum being created specifically ahead of the 2004 election. I was a "vocal " opponent of its creation. I was wrong.

Not to contradict, but I joined in early 2006 and there was no separate Politics forum then.

Re: Nashville Explosion

Digging into the archives, it looks like there was a temporary War subforum in March or April 2003 (although it was Politics/War in the description), followed by a temporary Election 2004 subforum. It looks like the more permanent Politics sub was very firmly established by the end of 2005, so I guess it was official either tail end of ‘04 or early-to-mid ‘05?

Edit: should’ve just consulted the Wayback Machine to begin with. It looks like the Election 2004 subforum was converted to Politics? There was definitely a Politics sub in early December 2004.

^Thanks for the edification, Adam. I could have sworn there was not a Politics subforum when I joined, and there wasn't. The famous as-it-happened 9/11 thread must've been in Other.

Yeah, that's how I remember it, too.

A subforum was created for the Iraq Invasion/Occupation, which eventually became this subforum. The "Other" forum had been running sort of hot with the lead-up to the Iraq invasion of '03, so those topics were spun-off into the War subforum, which, I believe was renamed to become the '04 election subforum, and, after that, became the "Religion, Politics, and World Events" subforum we all know and love. I think that, once the war discussion sub was introduced, it was a permanent fixture here with a few name changes, so I would, personally, consider this area to date back to '03.

Re: Nashville Explosion

The area bombed is in Downtown Nashville. The RV was playing Downtown before it exploded. When you’re alone and life is making you lonely. You can always go downtown. You couldn’t write a better story than that. Here’s an interview with the officers that went door to door evacuating buildings before the explosion. I know there’s a lot of skepticism with the Police today, but these officers are heroes who went into an area with an armed weapon of mass destruction and saved lives.

Re: Nashville Explosion

https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/27/us/na...now/index.html

Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake named Anthony Quinn Warner, 63, of Antioch, Tennessee, as a key person in the investigationinto the explosion of a recreational vehicle in Nashville early Christmas morning.

"That is a person of interest -- still there could be several more," Drake said.
Authorities believe Warner's remains were found at the blast site, according to several law enforcement officials with direct knowledge of the investigation, who spoke to CNN on the condition of anonymity.
The FBI is waiting for results of DNA testing to confirm the identity. Investigators are gathering DNA from Warner's family members and home, which they began searching Saturday, according to the sources.

Reports of a pseudo copy-cat box truck in Lebanon, TN playing the same message ... I’ve not heard of the site I’m finding that on, so I won’t post it. They were relaying CNN coverage, but I cannot find it on CNN. No explosives in the truck, driver has been detained.

This it?

I think they are currently questioning the driver.

That is what is being reported by law enforcement and I assume it’s true.

The picture of him in the MAGA hat has not been verified by any reputable news source; I haven’t seen any reputable reportage about his political views.

Twitter is such a cesspool. When I saw that tweet, I assumed it was real news, until your post reminded me.
