Thanks for the jokes boys! Certainly helpful to keep a sense of humor these days.

Here is a great explanation on how the virus is transmitted from the Health Minister of Singapore.

Well they could have a long lockdown. You gotta be prepared

I heard that in Seattle some people are starting to stock up on toilet paper. Some Costco places have run out. For real.

I've heard the same in Hawaii. I'm kind of surprised, I don't remember TP being on the list of priorities for other disasters.

Yep, I’ve heard of runs on TP, paper towels, wipes, bleach, and bottled water.

re: COVID-19 POLITICAL Thread

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/don...ponse-n1146516

Vice President Mike Pence on Sunday defended the administration's handling of the outbreak and accused Democrats of politicizing the outbreak. He in particular defended the president's eldest son Donald Trump Jr., who said Democrats were hoping for "millions" of Americans to be killed by coronavirus.
Who is politicizing now?

And it's not "millions."

Hard to fathom, but Don Jr. seems to be a bigger piece of garbage than his ‘father’.

Beating him in front of his college dorm-mates might be the only thing Trump has ever done that I completely approve of.

Not sure I would have picked Pence as Corona Czar. We need a non-political disease expert.

But didn't you watch the press conference yesterday? Pence cured AIDS in Indiana.

My local Costco and Sam's, which isn't in or even near Seattle, had empty aisles for water and tp.

Just got back from the store. No TP or water. I would suggest you start stocking up now if you haven't already. I just ordered the stuff I needed off of amazon. Hopefully, the workers don't catch the virus.

Great news. Pence just added Ben Carson to his Covid-19 task force. Maybe he can help restock the TP shelves.

re: COVID-19 POLITICAL Thread

Costco was a zoo this morning, but I got more TP, paper towels, and then went to the grocery store and bought some water (which was almost gone). We had tons already, but I gave a lot of stuff to my kids and my parents, who are less able or likely to stock up. I know exactly where my kids will look if they run out of food and/or necessities, and it's my garage. So, I'm buying as if that will happen.

I worry we could have a mini-Wuhan in thw US, or a repeat of Ontario during the 2003 SARS outbreak (One person inadvertently brought the virus back from China, causing around 500 infected and 50 deaths). I hope I'm wrong.

This is another death from "community spread" which means they don't know how the patient caught the virus. They are now thinking that it's been floating around for many weeks, infecting an unknown number.

It was a sickly fellow in a retirement home, probably the easiest place for this to spread (coughing is normal). But yeah I'd agree it's probably been out in the wild for several weeks.

That point was made by one doctor in the Seattle or WA state teams. He didn't explain in detail but I think they analyzed a specimen taken from an autopsy of someone who died several weeks ago, and they found that the specimen had the virus, so the infection must have happened before the person died.
