I once wrote a thing tangentially related to Trump. Someone printed it out, he signed it, and I was emailed a picture of the signature. It was surreal.

Perfectly reasonable. Obama would have done the same thing. /s

Of all the crazy shit Trump does, that's not at all weird. Imagine you wrote something in 2010 and a few weeks later got a handwritten note from Barack Obama saying "I saw that thing you wrote and I really liked it." You'd be pleased and proud. This isn't "needless complication" or "technophobe doesn't know how to use like button." This is "egomaniac with cult following strokes the ego of his fans."

The irony of Donald Trump’s Twitter dominance is that, apart from his apparent mastery of the microblogging platform, he’s largely a luddite. He doesn’t use a computer, he’s likely never downloaded an app, and, as Politico reported Monday, he does all of his news reading (with the exception of Fox News chyrons) on paper.

Besides the fact that it is horrible that this asshole is the one signing the bill (which he will take all the credit for), now Donnie is making tasteless jokes too

Thanks to Donnie, assholes like Rand Paul feel justified in being publicly racist. Could we do a gofundme for Paul's neighbor so he can beat the shit out of Rand again and we can pay his legal fees?

He's a celebrity/president who's giving people autographs based on their tweets. I think that this news organizations is making a mountain out of a molehill.
If he doesn't use a computer, and "likely never downloaded an app" (based on...?) how does he use Twitter? The article and the tweet gives you the impression that he doesn't know about the "like" button, and instead does this elaborate process. And yet, he's liked tweets made by his family and VP.

That's possible. But if someone uses Twitter as much as he does, I'd say it's more likely that he has downloaded the app, then claim he the opposite. NY Mag is playing the agist angle and trying to portray him as some senior citizen resorting to Rube Goldberg-like inventions to do simple things when in reality, it's like JasonF said, a way for Trump the celebrity to stroke the ego of his fans by giving them his autograph.

They're not saying he doesn't know what the "like" button does; they're saying he has a whole process set up where, if he presses that little heart (or indicates that he "likes" a tweet some other way), some lackey at the white house has to print off a copy of the tweet, bring it to him, have him sign it, then send it off to whoever wrote it.
It's fuckin' weird, my dude. That's it.
*I listened to it once. I didn't like it, but maybe it gets better with repeat listens.

And, I swear, his hyperbole is giving me cancer!
He can't just be "not racist", he has to be the LEAST racist person ANYWHERE.

“The African American people” are burning up the phone lines of the White House.
This is definitely a true thing that is happening.
"Mr. President, the African American Community is on line 1."
