Talking about The Wall is a tactic that works for the base. Someone posted in the neighborhood forum that there had been a suspicious person in her yard. The response was to tell us all to it's going to get worse because of the situation at the border. Good luck, he said, he plans to move to a Bible Belt state.

There was a suspicious person in the yards of many. He turned out to be the East Area rapist and Original Night Stalker and cop in his free time. Are we going to start making everyone paranoid about who is around us?

Mod Note: A reminder to please keep the conversation about the topic, not other members, thank you. Also, let's not drag Poppy and Branch into this thread, either. They're heroes.

Is this one of those Neighborhood watch forums where people flip out if a minority steps on their gladiolas?

Never wanted to jump into those neighborhood groups. The last thing I want to do is listen to what people in my neighborhood have to say.

Re: Official Trump Presidency Thread, Part 3

Need to read this.

Trump is unraveling before our eyes. He isn’t fit for reelection.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...d-re-election/

By Jennifer Rubin
Opinion writer
April 3 at 11:00 AM

Far too much media time has been devoted to mulling whether former vice president Joe Biden, as svelte and vigorous as he has ever been and showing no sign of mental deterioration, is too old to run for president and not nearly enough considering whether President Trump is.

In the past 24 hours, Trump — who will be 74 in November 2020 and is “tired,” according to aides — has:

- Falsely declared multiple times that his father was born in Germany. (Fred Trump was born in New York.)
- Declared that wind turbines cause cancer.
- Confused “origins” and “oranges” in asking reporters to look into the “oranges of the Mueller report.”
- Told Republicans to be more “paranoid” about vote-counting.

He is increasingly incoherent. The Post quotes him at a Republican event on Tuesday: “We’re going into the war with some socialist. It looks like the only non, sort of, heavy socialist is being taken care of pretty well by the socialists, they got to him, our former vice president. I was going to call him, I don’t know him well, I was going to say ‘Welcome to the world Joe, you having a good time?'” Even when attempting to defend himself, he emits spurts of disconnected thoughts. “Now you look at that [presidential announcement] speech and you see what’s happening and that speech was so tame compared to what is happening now, that trek up is one of the great treacherous treks anywhere, and Mexico has now, because they don’t want the border closed.”
Anyone who can explain that last sentence has my deep respect

Eh, except he did all of that during the campaign too. Obviously not a deal-breaker for his supporters.

He needs more than his supporters. He needs all the people who held their nose and voted for him because they hated Hillary. IMHO that's millions of people and a lot of them have jumped of the Trump Train already.

Exactly. Supporters don't care here if Granpa shithead here shoots someone, take his dick out in public, says the n word, etc. They'll vote for him because lil Donnie is the man they would love to be.

I'm not so sure - I think a lot of people LIKE having someone like him in charge. And they don't follow his daily gaffes like we do.

He tweets this, which is a fucking lie, as he promised it would be done by the first 100 days. I would love to see the mental gymnastics his supporters will go through to defend this one

By the way, here's a great list of his failed promises/lies

Some are just biding their time until after the next election to see the glorious new health plan. The same people that will throw verbal jabs at anyone that disagrees with their leader but get their feelings hurt when you say something negative about him.

I just made a doctor appointment since I live in Oklahoma and the wind is constantly blowing hard. Gotta make sure I haven't gotten cancer. Thank you President Trump for bringing this to my attention.

I agree with your second point (not a deal breaker), but as to you first point, I think he's gotten way, WAY worse since 2016. In the last three years, he's become so much more incoherent. It's been gradual, but compare an interview with him in 2016 to one now, and it's not contest. He's definitely sundowning more by the year, and it's showing. But yeah, his supporters won't care even if he starts drooling and biting his own tongue off. Thankfully, those supporters aren't enough to win him the presidency, as it's the swing-voters who will determine the election, and they could very much notice and care, where they didn't before he was president.

Here's a transcript from a speech in July 2016:

He's always been like this.

See, they’re exactly the same.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/03/polit...ace/index.html

The White House has not responded to CNN’s repeated requests for comment over the last two days to clarify President Donald Trump’s recent misrepresentation about his father’s birthplace.

Later, a Trump adviser sought to deflect attention on Trump’s misrepresentation by trying to shift the focus to former President Barack Obama.

”Obama thought we had 57 states. Sometimes mistakes happen,” the adviser said.

But Trump has now made the claim his father was born in Germany at least three times, according to The Washington Post.

I didn't say he wasn't incoherent before, just that he's even MORE noticeably incoherent now.

I've never understoord why no one has printed it, signed it, and then sued for breach of contract (asserting that it was done before the election).

Maybe. I just think he's in the public eye a lot more now so we're seeing it a lot more.

People have been saying that for the past 3 years. More incoherent than before, but if it really has been noticeably more so now, then by this time he should be left to nothing more than flipping his index finger rapidly up and down over his lips bibbling.

It's like the claims that he is more unhinged than he was before. It doesn't work that way. It's binary... either he's unhinged or he's not.
