Oh yeah, that was just before the supreme court in December

One thing I don't know is if he's found guilty of anything at the state level, which sentence would he serve first? They can't be concurrent since they would have to be served in different prisons.

Probably the Federal first since he booked that one first. Chances are he won't live long enough to make it to state prison.

They just added more years to Manafort's sentence.

Paul Manafort sentenced to a total of 7.5 years in prison. 'It is hard to overstate the number of lies.'

Yep. Might as well just flat out asked for a pardon on camera.

So if he's in prison and his assets are seized and liquidated, will Manafort still be able to man-afford his scumbag lawyer to fight the state charges? I mean the legal fees must be astronomical (though maybe they're doing it for publicity or are paid by some nutjob right wing defense fund?)

How long before Trump tweets out that Manafort was just a guy who got his coffee a couple days a week and denies a pardon cause he hardly knows the guy?

Roger Stone is breathing a sigh of relief, knowing this is the same judge who is overseeing his case - especially with how lenient she's been with him lately.

Re: Official Trump Presidency Thread, Part 3

Asked if Canada's grounding was a factor, Trump said, "We're doing it almost as a simultaneous - we were coordinating with Canada. We were coordinating with Canada. We were giving them information, they were giving us information. We very much worked in conjunction with Canada."

HE looks bad for holding out this long. - was pressured because everyone else grounded them

Why the fuck was he "working with Canada" on this? Ground the planes if you want to. He was the one talking to the Boeing CEO the other day who tried to convince him the MAX planes were safe.

The FAA also said the planes were safe. At the end of the day, not everyone was on the same page. The fact that the US is the last to act is a sign of how we've punted leadership in the world. I don't throw this 100% on Trump, but damn it makes the US look bad.

I started a thread on this as I though it might distract from the Trump thread if I posted it in this thread. 737 Max 8 thread HERE

Re: Official Trump Presidency Thread, Part 3

I haven't been following the Boeing thing, but when I first saw Stinger's post saying that Trump had grounded the planes my first thought was "Wow. Trump did something right".

And of course, now that I read a little more, I see that the U.S. was the LAST country to ground the planes. Hey, I tried to give the man credit. It's just so obvious he doesn't deserve it, and can act with common sense only after everyone else already has.

What do you expect? Trump is clearly a follower and not a leader. He's too scared to look "wrong" if he makes a decision which doesn't pan out as perfect. Therefore, he'll never make proactive decisions on things like this.
