We’ll see how it goes. Listened to Rush on my lunch and he was saying that while the compromise didn’t offer as much as it should, it would cover 55 of the 64 miles of barrier that Trump feels is truly important. I’ve no idea where the magical 64 number comes from, as it’s the first I’ve heard it. Probably Limbaugh’s ass.

No, they shouldn't cover it. Because it is a campaign rally, not a presidential rally.

By covering his rallies, the media is giving him free airtime to spread his lies. Without media coverage, only those in attendance would be exposed... but the way it is, the seeds of deception have been sown and spread by the wind of coverage.

A lie repeated becomes the truth. Even though there is no danger on the southern border, because Trump has been hammering the danger lie for weeks (and has had all of his rallies covered and analyzed), the Democrats have had to acknowledge that "border security" is something that needs additional funding or else run the risk of some/many thinking that they are soft on border security.

What's the difference when the President is doing it?

Right, but he's the President. His lies need to be spread.

Eh, that's just campaign stuff. Dems know how to address border security without falling to Repub traps.

The media of course should be reporting on the rallies but they should not be airing them live. Even the propaganda wing of the Republican party, Fox News, rarely airs them live anymore.

I agree with this. There is no breaking news, so I don't see why it should be live.

Trump lied about how many people attended his rally. The fire department obliterated the fabrication immediately.

The fire department in El Paso, Texas, called out Trump for lying and inflating the number of people who attended his rally there Monday night.

During his rally, Trump attacked former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX), who also held a rally protesting Trump’s racist border wall and his policy of stealing migrant children from their families.

“A young man who’s got very little going for himself, except he’s got a great first name, he is, he has challenged us. So we have, let’s say, 35,000 people tonight — and he has 200 people, 300 people, not too good,” Trump whined.

That was a lie.

“El Paso Fire Department just told us that Trump’s statement about them allowing 10,000 people inside is incorrect,” wrote Zahira Torres of the El Paso Times. “Spokesman says coliseum holds 6,500 and that is how many were allowed in building.”

At O’Rourke’s rally, on the other hand, police estimated a crowd of “10,000 to 15,000” people.

In other words, the crowd Trump mocked was bigger than his own rally.

Trump is a serial liar, who often lies about easily disprovable things like crowd size. He didn’t have to lie about how many people came to his rally, or to O’Rourke’s event. But Trump regularly exaggerates his crowd sizes, and he did so again Monday night.

This time, the lie was quickly debunked by a local fire department.

I’m pretty much “all in” for Beto. In the past decade I’ve only given money to 2 people. Obama and when Beto was running in Texas.

Re: Official Trump Presidency Thread, Part 3

So Trump is now saying the Democrats are come for their “cars, plane travel and cows”.

His reelection campaign is going to be more fear
mongering? Great.

Oh and Democrates are trying to turn America in to a socialist country?

Do people really buy that shit? Oh wait. Don’t answer. (Hangs Head Down).

Ive mentioned many a time I use to be a republican. Back then the message (that I remember) was positive. “Strong Military” “lower debt” “limited government”. Sure there was always an attack or two on something specific. But I don’t remember this overall fear mongering. Maybe was too close to it.

Oh, that doesn't mean the voters won't fall for Trump's bullshit again. I have ZERO faith in them to wise up this time.

As a teacher, I do my best to teach my students to become educated so that they can go out and earn a good living. One that is better than what teachers are paid. I'm not sure how Trump Nutt Jr. extrapolates that we are trying to indoctrinate the youth on socialism. What exactly has he done in his life aside from being a turd?

That, and calling teachers "losers" because he thinks they don't agree with him politically. It reflects the anti-intellectual attitude of Trump and a lot of the GOP today.

This latest attack on teachers almost certainly stems from Fox News complaining last week that schools are "teaching fairness":

ive thought about this. And I’m going to disagree. I don’t believe a lie ever becomes a truth just by repeating it. For those in his base it doesn’t need repeating for them to believe. They hear once and believe.

I will say that if a person tells a the same lie over and over, THEY will bring to believe it.

I think he repeats so much as he likes talking in “sound-bites” and it gives more exposure and different exposure.
