I only did this at lunch a couple of times when I used to go to AZ (head office). They were all Bush people and too easy to piss off.

Before 9/11, there were unified school districts in Hidalgo county that had children living in Mexico and attending schools in the US. That's how much the culture has changed in twenty years.

I think it's caused by the cultivation of fear of otherness.

I’m working on one of these clever sayings too ... just can’t find a rhyme for “orange” or “Russian” though.

If Trump loses Fox and Ann Coulter, who will he have left? Ivanka and Jared?

I’m going to side with DVD Polizei here.

It’s probably not a good idea to wear your politics on your sleeve in the workplace.

We’re at such a hyperpartisan time in history that just saying you’re a Trump supporter or an Obama supporter, giving an opinion on gun control, religion, abortion, police brutality, or any other hot topic is enough to throw you out of favor with supervisors, and could lead to being denied promotions or raises, being fired, or not being hired in the first place. And it works both ways politically. In these times, you’re going to be less trustful and less sympathetic to people who don’t think like you.

Do I think there are bosses, supervisors, administraters, and business owners who would punish you for having differing political views than them? Absolutely.

You think these people could exist. Sure, I get that. But he said it's happening, and at "rampant" levels. Do you believe they're acting on it? At a "rampant" level? To side with DVDPolizei on this is to agree with a false claim with no data presented to back it up. Until then, it's a hunch and hypotheticals.

I don’t know about “rampant,” but it wouldn’t surprise me if it happens. I’m not going to tell anyone I work with that I’m an atheist.

And when I was hiring people at my job I would look at their facebook pages and I trash resumes from people who came off as overly confrontational, argumentative, or just a flat-out raving lunatic. And most of that was political in nature. That someone rants daily about “crisis actors” would seem to speak poorly of their character, and not be someone I want working with me. And, yeah, these crazies were disproportionally on the conservative side. (Granted, I’m in a particularly red area, so these types are fairly common.)

Not getting hired for a particular reason is an entirely different thing than getting fired or treated differently as an employee for it.

Looks like the shutdown really cratered Trump's approval ratings.

I thought all English class in school was about studying works or fiction. What's new here?
