Did you vote in the 2018 general election?

If you're voting later today, you can say YES. Just don't miss the deadline! It's pretty early in some states (6 PM in Indiana and Kentucky).

What time do polls close? 2018 poll closing times by state at Politico.com

I voted straight-ticket Democratic.

Re: Did you vote in the 2018 general election?

Wife waited an hour this morning before work.

I went to go earlier but my car battery was dead again (chronic corrosion problem I need to get fixed, too many short trips last week, battery getting old). It is on the charger right now. I'm going in an hour or so.

GM gives us the day off work for voting day, so, no excuse not to.

Re: Did you vote in the 2018 general election?

I tried to before work, but my polling place of 20+ years changed, unbeknownst to me. So now i get to go after work, which will probably be much more crowded.

Re: Did you vote in the 2018 general election?

Just voted. The polling place is about a 5 minute walk from where I live. Walked right in and voted. There was no line and plenty of open booths. However timing is probably everything as I did wait until 10:30 to go since I figured that was after morning rush and before lunch.

Sent in my absentee ballot a few weeks ago. I voted the straight Democratic ticket (for the first time in my life).

Voted this morning. More people than usual, but not much of a wait. I'll go back later to vote again.

Voted last week. Went with either Democrat or Working Families Party candidates, depending on the office in question. Didn’t vote for any judges because every single one was running unopposed!

Re: Did you vote in the 2018 general election?

Just voted in Georgia! The one good thing about living in a super-white conservative district is that it was really easy to vote. Of course the bad thing is none of the people I vote for have a snowball's chance in hell of winning Lots of unopposed Republicans on my ballot (who instead of voting for I wrote in a variety of names like Merrick Garland, Oprah Winfrey, Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama, and Michael Moore). And despite the polls, I think Stacey Abrams doesn't have a chance either. Kemp is winning this, by hook or by crook. Letting Kemp run the election is like letting Lebron call all the fouls in a Lakers game.

Just did. Both the Senator up for election this term and my Representative have no real chance of losing, however.

^ That's a weird map. Why not show what time the polls close LOCAL time? EDT is only relevant in the Eastern time zone and for what time you will start seeing results on TV.

Wasn't crowded after all. In fact, the only people in front of my at the table for my district were our neighbors from up the road, whom we hate. Mom accompanied 18-year-old daughter into the "booth" to help her.

Went straight (D) or the first time ever, I believe. Didn't even vote for the (R) running unopposed.

They wouldn't let Canadians vote in U.S. elections, so no.

Re: Did you vote in the 2018 general election?

Question...

Why is it so easy to vote in California compared to other parts of the country? It literally only took me 10-15 minutes to vote and I live in a large suburb in a huge Metro area. How is California able to handle a high volume of voters but other states with high and low populations have an average 1-3 hour wait times if not more. I've been voting in California for almost 30 years now and I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes to vote even Presidential cycles.

Re: Did you vote in the 2018 general election?

I voted. In California there wasn’t really anything to vote for that would send a message that you’re against trump. We have two Democrats running against each other for lieutenant governor!

Re: Did you vote in the 2018 general election?

I don’t understand how these voting difficulties are allowed to stand. I’ve voted in both California and New York. At no time have I ever waited more than a few minutes. The places were people wait for hours to vote are just wrong. It should not be hard to cast your ballot.
