Not to be a whataboutist, but all I ever hear about is how Obama once said "and you'll be able to keep your doctor." That one line helps millions of people on one side of the argument justify calling 44 a liar.

Its only fair now that Trump has said "Mexico is going to pay for it" that we as a country start holding him to his word. Most of us think the whole wall thing is a stupid idea anyway. Since he went out of his way to say Mexico would foot the bill, taxpayers shouldn't have to give him a fucking dime for it.

Re: Official Trump Presidency Thread, Part 2

A key Senate committee delayed a vote on President Trump’s pick to lead the main agency handling immigration enforcement, as a coalition of unions raise “serious concern” about Ronald D. Vitiello’s ability to effectively lead the agency.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), the committee’s chairman, said the vote on Vitiello was being delayed so that senators could perform “due diligence” into those concerns raised by unions representing Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel. One issue they raised in a letter to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is Vitiello apparently sharing images of Trump on Twitter that compare the president to the cartoon character Dennis the Menace.

“The nominee to be considered by the Committee, Mr. Ronald D. Vitiello, has only been with ICE for a short period of time, and while this letter neither supports nor opposes his nomination to be our Director, we are aware of several matters that give us serious concern about him,” the unions said.

Johnson said the committee could vote as early as Thursday on the nomination, which would then have to go to the floor for a final confirmation vote.
Pretty great stuff. We can confirm all kinds of people, but this guy is flagged, because Denis the menace!

That's a great point. It should be asked at every press conference. And it won't be because there are 10 million other things to ask about.

I love how Trump is saying people aren't buying small cars because of tariffs and not because people don't want to buy those kinds of cars.

But hey, he's apparently an expert on that too.

It also ignores the fact that almost every foreign car company has an assembly plant here in the U.S.

Seems fine, why have the current CIA director brief the senators.

He seems to have turned it into "Mexico will pay us back for the wall," as if they don't want to pay for it now, but will do so in the future (and he'll blame the next President for not being able to collect on that promise).

Trump has invented a new concept, "company of origin," not country of origin. Basically he'll slap tariffs on anything he doesn't like.

Well, in this case, I think Trump does have some wiggle room. The CIA says they have "high confidence" that it happened. Clapper says if the CIA says "high confidence" than you can take it to the bank.

BUT, it isn't a 100% certainty. And in Trumps mind, that's enough to justify maybe he did it and maybe he didn't, especially since he's predisposed to believe he didn't.

How can anyone who says this amount of bullshit be the President. Again, this is the bullshit that wasn't tolerated of Palin, so why does this bloviating asshole get a pass?

As if those Dems never brought up stupid stuff. Like Russia. Collusion. Lies about a supreme court justice nominee. Lies about knowing when "witnesses" were informed, and of course, more lies about the accusations themselves that turned out to be nothing but...well, lies.

But that media won't report about that. Old news, right? Who cares who was right and who was blatantly wrong.

Still waiting for evidence, by the way on the Russian thingie. Been 2 years, bro.

I like how he starts with “people like myself, we have very high levels of intelligence” and then spends two paragraphs proving he's a blithering idiot.

Yes, Russia and collusion are the same as Dennis the Menace cartoons - do you ever get tired of false equivalencies or is it just your default setting these days?

Maybe Mueller should be tweeting every day - nah, he's busier than the President.

To me, they are the same. If you don't believe what I do and millions of Americans, that's fine. You have the right to your opinions.

Maybe Mueller should find a job to do, though. Maybe like a janitor. Since he wants to take out the trash, he could effectively do this every single day and not cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars.

There is movement in the atmosphere. There's no question.

Come on Trump supporters. Admit you just like this guy because he pisses off liberals and hates minorities. No way you can possibly think he's smart enough to lead the most powerful nation in the world.

Mueller has been quite busy. How long have past investigations into Presidents taken? Where does he fall on that scale? Any ideas?

And since you're such a fan of equivalencies, you're okay with how much taxpayer money Trump has spent visiting his properties (and paying himself to do so), right? Is it more or less than Mueller has spent?
