I'm really interested to see what happens there in the next few months with the Puerto Rico situation. That's a state can really go blue in a hurry if Puerto Ricans get registered.

As for the current mess, I blame Trump (more his subordinates and Cotton, I think Trump is a child) completely for cutting off DACA and putting that into play, knowing full well it was a chip to play for his dream wall. People can call DACA an unconstitutional act, but as far as I know nobody was harmed by it to have standing to file a lawsuit. It should have stood and it is a great policy IMO.

That being said, immigration policy should not drive our budget.

I can fill in on this. Orlando has welcomed Puerto Ricans in a huge way. The Orlando International Airport has staff ready to receive folks from the island with orientation and assistance. Most folks I know have welcomed them with no problems and actually we have tried helping quite a few get jobs at our production plant. Some don't speak English, but we help them out as needed. 80% of the folks in production speak Spanish anyways so it is not that difficult.

As for elections, the mass exodus from the Island to Florida is considerable. Whether that will translate to votes is another story. The truth is you have a huge retirement population which consistently grows here in Florida. These old farts vote Republican and they actually go out and vote. Next State elections will be similar to the 2016 elections. Puerto Ricans did not move to The Villages or rural areas, they moved to mostly urban areas which vote Democrat anyways. It will be a coin tossup.

Apparently, but again, that's passing the background check for the clearance (the SF-86).

Glad I already have a drivers license in VA. I just renew it now online. Lord knows what it requires to get a brand new one now.
