An apology

I hope the mods will indulge this thread, as it pertains directly to my behavior on this particular forum and posts made here.

I've realized as I go on my personal journey of spiritual growth that I have closed myself off to some of the members here, which is a cruel thing to do. I know I've had spats with creekdipper, mspmms, DVD Polizei, Space Ape Mafia and others, and for that I apologize. I do not agree with most of their views, but I realize I have to treat them respectfully.

I'm doing this publicly instead of via PM because I was publicly rude and I want to correct that. So to those I treated poorly, I apologize and will work on doing better going forward.

And now back to your regularly scheduled political freak out.

Is this step 7 or 8? I always forget.

I'm not in AA but I suppose some of the goals might be the same.

I wish your journey of spiritual growth takes you where you need to be.

As far as you and me -

We're good.

Re: An apology

I think you've been respectful when addressing them, more than I have been, at least.
But then having a disagreement over differing opinions and having a disagreement over argument fallacies are two different things, and I think the bigger issue has been addressing their fallacies rather than just disagreeing with their opinion.

Re: An apology

I never even take notice of who you've bickered with. Everything here is in one eyeball and the other with me. I've been in debates where I've accused one poster of saying something another poster said. I can't account for all these identities and silly handles.

Re: An apology

I've noticed you get a little more snarky and confrontational especially since you hung up the mod hat. I think this thread is a step in the right direction.

You didn't apologize to me for using to many syllables in your words. You are a real piece of work.

Re: An apology

I think at some point we are all guilty.

But your point is well made. We seem to be in a world where we no longer listen or are respectful to others.

Re: An apology

I fully respect the action you're taking here, even though I probably haven't seen many of the threads with said occurrences. Our culture is becoming and more more toxic, so to acknowledge participation and take responsibility for rectifying it is quite admirable. We will never regain civility if no one can see that they may be part of the problem. So, good on you!

Re: An apology

I'm not sure some of those folks deserve apologies, but in all sincerity you are a good man for making the gesture.

I spend a ... let's just say ... unfortunate ... amount of time on here. And I missed the Supermallet drama. Though I guess I don't care to no either.

It's about time, Supermallet, but I don't think I can forgive you until I get a great big bear hug.
