Going too far? Kathy Griffin (Bonus: Am I racist, or just asking questions?)

Kathy Griffin with bloody decapitated Trump head

It is fake - just in case I spoilerized.

I know many here despise Donald Trump. I have a honest question:
Do you think this is acceptable?

It's fake? Good to know. Could care less if she went too far or not.

Eh. I didn't get upset when Ted Nugent called to assassinate Obama and Clinton. And we didn't make arrests when people and businesses that threw up Obama lynching dummies. I think less of the people involved in this shoot. But whatever.

How many people were offended when these used to be a common sight?

No. If it were real, she would have gone too far. Probably.

If the United States was still a civilized nation? No.
Post Trump? Yes.

Marilyn Manson must be pissed Kathy is getting all this attention after his own Trump beheading image failed to muster widespread controversy.

I think we give too much attention to tiny voices. I believe that there are very small groups on each side of an issue that create mainstream hostility.

I hope you can understand that Kathy Griffin doesn't speak for the left, liberals, Hollywood, or Democrats. A lot of people can't comprehend that.

It does nothing to further political discourse, and just drags everything deeper into the gutter. Plus it's an extreme overreaction.

Well, you see, those are different. After all, Obama was <s>the worst president in history</s> <s>the antichrist</s> black.

Kathy Griffin went too far when she got on stage with Anderson Cooper for the New Years celebration on CNN. Cringe worthy.

Yeah, she went too far. Paul_SD's examples also were too far.

There needs to be an effort made to bring rational civility back; not continue to one-up the hostile rhetoric.

You could say when Griffin went into show business, she went too far.

It's pathetic, the Obama memes make me want to puke, but the Trump ones are just as worthless.

Sadly, I think the pendulum has a lot further to swing before we start returning to a society that acts with maturity. Trump could lead by example, of course, like Obama did, but that's never going to happen.

way too far, but the lynching of Obama's likeness worse, given the historical context and considering it was being done by "regular" people who might've actually done it for real if given the chance, not a horrible F-list "celeb" doing it solely to be an attention whore.

I say not far enough. If you are a comedian, at least make it funny. I'm finding a lot of celebs are losing their point by just posting 'arrrrggg fuck Trump' type stuff instead of a withering comment that would carry so much more weight.

I follow a bunch of liberals/leftists on Twitter and not a single one has supported this absurdity.

Finally something that unites us all!

This, and contempt and hatred for Daesh and Kim Jong Un.

I am confused as to what point she was trying to make, but I would venture that even Strumpf's most virulent detractors don't want to see him killed, much less decapitated. Thrown out and jailed if grounds exist therefor? No question.
