Yes. I think she bored audiences with talking about aligning with certain groups to fight ISIS. Trump won with 'we're going to bomb the crap out of ISIS' - nuff said. Clinton talks about setting up programs to support small business lending. Trump says "jobs MAGA". Trump voters' response to Clinton:

Maybe I'm being to cynical here... But politicians should start recruiting the best marketing companies to get them elected. I don't think voting is an exercise in futurist thought to most (ie, this policy, legislation, or rhetoric will have this positive effect, and so we should support it). I believe the world is much dumber than that. Trump won using the same methods Subway uses to sell sandwiches (there's a pedo Jared joke in there somewhere).

Should they indulge in these methods, in order to capture more votes? Or should they abstain in pursuit of hope? I guess we'll see how it works out.

Let's say that a movie gets a 5% score on RottenTomatoes. It is objectively awful -- incoherent, poorly acted, poorly filmed, etc. Everyone thinks that it never should have been made except a small group of no-name critics connected to the studio that produced it, diehard fans who love the book that the movie is based on, and masochists who believe that the movie is so bad that it's good.

Are the people who are saying that the movie sucks operating in an echo chamber or reality?

Inri - would you like to chime in with your support of Ridley Scott and his unfairly maligned, soulful, post-2000 masterpieces?

Looking at Rotten Tomatoes - Trump is the Death Note of politics. Somehow that accidental, unfortunate turd is holding at a 40% approval rate.

I thought Danny McBride was woefully miscast.

I guess Scott was going for the everyman/everywoman-type that he used successfully in the original (Kotto, Cartwright, Stanton, Skerrit, etc.), but I just didn't buy "T's" acting chops.

Some people call it dumbing things down, others call it "connecting with voters."

I think the majority of voters are not policy wonks. That stuff is best kept for the Sunday talk shows. Most voters don't take a deep dive into a candidate. They go off their gut, or "what they've heard" about a candidate. The whole notion of "That's a guy/lady I'd like to have a beer with" sells in election season.

This can't be legal (not that anything will come of it).

Trump’s business sought deal on a Trump Tower in Moscow while he ran for president

While Donald Trump was running for president in late 2015 and early 2016, his company was pursuing a plan to develop a massive Trump Tower in Moscow, according to several people familiar with the proposal and new records reviewed by Trump Organization lawyers.

As part of the discussions, a Russian-born real estate developer urged Trump to come to Moscow to tout the proposal and suggested he could get President Vladimir Putin to say “great things” about Trump, according to several people who have been briefed on his correspondence.

Trump never went to Moscow as Sater proposed. And although investors and Trump’s company signed a letter of intent, they lacked the land and permits to proceed and the project was abandoned at the end of January 2016, just before the presidential primaries began, several people familiar with the proposal said.

Nevertheless, the details of the deal, which have not previously been disclosed, provide evidence that Trump’s business was actively pursuing significant commercial interests in Russia at the same time he was campaigning to be president — and in a position to determine U.S.-Russia relations. The new details from the emails, which are scheduled to be turned over to congressional investigators soon, also point to the likelihood of additional contacts between Russia-connected individuals and Trump associates during his presidential bid.

Trump is lifting ban of selling certain military equipment to local police.

Makes sense since this is an Obama thing. Though a terrible idea to have large military equipment in the hands of local police.

Not on Twitter, but sometimes I wish I could tweet back:

"We are in the NAFTA (best trade deal ever made) renegotiation process with the US. Trump being very difficult, may have to terminate"

I almost posted that for you. But writing "terminate" and "Trump" might raise some eyebrows. I'm sure Trump has staff watching every comment. I don't want to get Gitmo'd.

Yes, because militarizing the police is a great thing.

I'll wait for you to say that the ANTIFA's have military style weaponry and are using it against police and civilians.

Ok, go.

What could possibly go wrong by putting military grade equipment into the hands of street level police officers?

Wasn't the military grade police response to Ferguson the reason that Obama made that rule?
