Twitter can be a very useful platform but it requires that a user exercise... common sense and self-control. Both of which are in short supply these days. I find it to be a helpful news aggregator. I am selective about the people/groups I follow so I don't see a lot of the junk that's out there.

How many of those complaining about Twitter hate-follow people/groups that get them agitated only to turn around and say, "see! This is why Twitter is a cesspool!"? (Reminds me of the old guys I know who would watch Bill O'Reilly to get their fill of titillating ads on TV because O'Reilly would air them on his show in a loop and complain about the ads. For them, it was safe from their wive's complaints because it was a "news" show.)

But I get it... all the cool kids are dunking on Twitter.

I'm perfectly willing to criticize Biden (and to listen to others who criticize him). That's doesn't change the fact that, for all his faults, we are infinitely better off with Biden in office than Trump.

If a requirement to use Twitter was to use common sense and self control, the platform would collapse. A lot of it is knee jerk reactions or being first, not necessarily being right.

I have never used it, apart from looking at what is posted here. I detest it and all other social media with a passion. I do agree with sracer that it can serve a beneficial purpose, such as by disseminating information in places where information is suppressed or hard to come by, but I have zero interest in partaking in it myself.

Yeah, Twitter does have its uses, even if about 90% or so of its users (or bots) just abuse the shit out of it. I've personally never felt a need to use it so I haven't.

And yes, I remember that "pedo" comment about the rescue diver, Musk is trash.

Now that's signature material.

Okay, closed for the night all in good fun, back open today. Meme away.

Here, I made this one and put it in the Fox thread last night in response to Tucker Carlson's recent anti-McCarthy clip:

It was on Twitter, shared by an account whose sole purpose is to scare people about how terrible liberals are, so almost everybody who read it believed it.

Exactly this. Same with the 'litter boxes for kids who identify as cats' thing, which also never happened.
(I am jealous of anyone who has no idea WTF I'm talking about )
