The "hot coffee" case is so fucked up - people just go with the headlines without knowing (or caring, I guess) that her skin was sloughing off her legs. She was the passenger, the car was stopped and she suffered 3rd degree burns which required skin grafts. She was also in the hospital for over a week. And people actually sided with McDonald's after that. Un-fucking-believable.

Not to mention that McDonalds knowingly served coffee above the "safe" temperature as dictated by law, that she originally only sued for her hospital bills only, and when someone uses it as an example of trying to escape personal responsibility, I ask, "what if she had done something crazy like...put it in her mouth?"

Garcetti's "I was holding my breath" comment is ridiculous stupid. But I don't want to hear anything from people who constantly downplay the value and necessity of masks. There is also a world of difference between eschewing masks entirely and taking them off for a picture. I don't know if Stacey Abrams was unmasked the whole time she was around these kids. If so, I agree -- that was wrong. But if it was just for a single picture, then this criticism is asinine and juvenile, like pretty much everything else that comes out of the right on the topic of COVID.

The problem with people attacking Joe Rogan is that they open themselves up to criticism. I'm not sure if Howard Stern weighed in, but I'm seeing a lot of quotes from Stern and blackface photos of him popping up, so he is very much open to getting cancelled based on any one of thousands of tasteless comments.
