Trumpocalypse Now - Day:0 ... Here we go... it was nice knowing you all...

Day One

Trump appoints climate change denier to his EPA transition team.

Top national security figures tell Team Trump to fuck off.

Republican Jewish Committee warns ADL their tax exempt status could be in jeopardy for pointing out the antisemitism of the Trump campaign.

Well, not a bad start, right? Nothing like a completely rudderless President-elect unable or unwilling to appoint qualified leaders to key positions.

Let's also take a look at a true basket of deplorables, AKA Trump's expected cabinet nominations (and also you can likely throw Sarah Palin in there because why not we're already in Hell anyway): http://www.politico.com/story/2016/1...cabinet-231071

Well I've been saying for years our grain silos need a surgeon general's warning on them.

I saw that climate appointee article earlier today, but also noticed that it was from late September. Not that that makes it any better, but it's not new news.

Not looking forward to seeing who else jumps in the clown car.

This just in, Trump's Secret Service detail will include an extra guy for the wig, in case the NRA crowd should get confused and try to bag it as a bleached squirrel.

I, personally, think we should start a GoFundMe account to buy him an eight-year supply of Dippity Do.

Well, if things go the way I think they will with Reps controlling all levers of government and an overreach likely, there's a chance the House can go Dem in 2018 even with the garbage gerrymandering the Republican state governments have given us.

Trumpocalypse is already hurting our children:

'Anxious and fearful' students demand day off to cry about Trump

Loyola students are exhausted and exasperated from this election
A petition to cancel classes 335 supporters, over halfway to its goal

“Last night I cried until I vomited,” a Loyola student claimed. “I don't even remember falling asleep, but I must have passed out from hyperventilation. I woke up with my eyes nearly swolen [sic] shut. My body is sore. My mind is numb.”

Re: Trumpocalypse Now

RJC executive director Matt Brooks told the Forward that the nonprofit group could be in a "compromising position" as a result of its focus on the anti-Semitic imagery and rhetoric employed by Trump's campaign and supporters.

“I think it bears watching," Brooks said, "and I think that the ADL has put itself potentially in a compromising position going forward, in terms of its ability to interact with the incoming administration."

He called for an "examination" of the ADL's activity.

“I understand that they are an important watchdog on these things, but it seems to me that at critical times in the course of this campaign, a pattern emerged where the ADL put their thumb on the scale," Brooks said.
That's fucking chilling.

I don't know if the fact that its coming from "The Republican Jewish Committee" makes it better or worse.

In before the apock(alypse).

The 100-Day Plan is up, too.

By "Day One," does he mean "Day Two"? Because Day One usually has some parties, and stuff.

This is a good one:

THIRD, a requirement that for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated;
How does that even work?

No, he might actually be somewhat qualified for that. The article about the Cabinet suggested he could be up for Secretary of Education, of all things (if Trump doesn't eliminate it).

Re: Trumpocalypse Now

My doom and gloom predictions

Pot-Feds will begin enforcing law. In those states with legal pot expect the feds to come in and close down all retail operations.

Abortion-will stay legal. If a republican controlled state passes a restriction law, it will be upheld.

Gay marriage- Republican controlled states will pass religious exemption laws that will be upheld. Can still get married.

Obamacare- will have to be repealed immediately. If republicans are going to send "Your Insurance Is Cancelled" notices to millions of people, including the people who hate Obamacare, they'll need the two years till the next election to get a replacement up and running or they'll take the blame in 2018.

Trade- renegotiating deals making them more favorable to the U.S. will raise the price of imported goods. Manufacturing moving to U.S will have higher labor costs. Rate of inflation will rise, but not wages. The cost increase of cheap goods from China translates to more inflation. If demand for these goods go down, retailers will lay off workers to keep prices low to preserve demand.

Mexico- piss them off too much, Russia will move in to be their new best friend.

Saudi Arabia- piss them off, sever alliance, Russia will become their new ally.

Iran- tear up the Iran nuke deal and Iran will be able to move forward with nuke program unfettered. Nothing will stop them anyway, but this deal at least slowed them down.

Europe- remain friends but relationship strained. They'll be less willing to help. More incidents like when France refused to let us fly over their airspace.

There won't be:

Mass deportations
Defunding of sanctuary cities
Censoring of press
Term limits

A lot will depend on your state. Conservative laws passed in conservative states are more likely to be upheld.

Make no mistake. Shit can be fucked with.
Those too young to remember the 80s, Playboy, Penthouse and other men's magazines were sold everywhere magazines were sold. Atty. General Meese, under Reagan, started the Meese Commission on pornography. The justice department sent letters to all retailers threatening criminal prosecution unless Playboy, etc. were pulled from the shelves. In particular they went after 7-11. It worked.

I'm not sure about that one. Trump sounds like he's 100% FOR medical pot, and kind of wavering about whether states should be able to legalize it or not:

“In terms of marijuana and legalization, I think that should be a state issue, state-by-state. … Marijuana is such a big thing. I think medical should happen — right? Don’t we agree? I think so. And then I really believe we should leave it up to the states.” Washington Post, October 29, 2015

—–

“I’d say [regulating marijuana] is bad. Medical marijuana is another thing, but I think it’s bad and I feel strongly about that. [Moderator: “What about the states’ right aspect of it?”] If they vote for it, they vote for it… But I think, medical marijuana, 100%.” C-SPAN, June 23, 2015

I was the person assigned to pull Playboy and Penthouse off the shelves. It was a good lesson about what conservatives meant when they said they wanted smaller government.

Maybe he can put a course about how prison makes people gay or how if Jews had guns the holocaust would have never happened.

In no way do I want to make light of something serious, but I think "Trump-ster Fire" would be a more fun name for this thread.

I disagree, based on this quote:
O’Reilly then called medical marijuana a “ruse,” to which Trump responded: “But I know people that have serious problems and they did that they really — it really does help them.” The O’Reilly Factor, February 12, 2016
I think that since Trump knows people personally who have benefited from medical marijuana, it's an issue he will not just leave to AG.

Sounds like when Obama introduced Trump to his new bosses (the Illuminati Council) it finally humbled him.

Haha. That's what I just wrote about in the other thread.

My theory is aliens. There's some Childhood's End shit going on when you become POTUS.

Or you go in that back room and do something so inhumane and taboo while they document it. And you're basically blackmailed for the rest of your life.
