The DNC Convention Thread (Debbie Wasserman Schultz free)

Well I will start this thread with the news that the head of the Democratic National Committee will not be speaking at the party's convention.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz won't speak at Dem convention following Wikileaks fallout

If the leaks continue, it looks like the Democrats’ convention could be very interesting (entertaining).

They need to remove DWS already. Talk about an albatross around their neck.

I checked, this is not the first time a chair has not spoken at a convention.

Hillary's website now points to this as vindication that the system was not rigged, just as she has said from the beginning.

Re: The DNC Convention Thread

Leaked Emails Show DNC Officials Planned Anti-Trump Protests
The release of Democratic National Committee emails by WikiLeaks Friday reveals that DNC officials planned anti-Donald Trump protests.

In multiple emails, DNC officials signed off and acknowledged the existence of two anti-Donald Trump protests in South Bend, IN and Billings, MT. The release of nearly 20,000 emails is the first in a WikiLeaks “Hillary Leaks” series.
The problem I have with this is it is no different than any other outright propaganda. It is like the SuperPAC Correct the Record paying people to be pro-Hillary online and go after Trump, obviously. But if it were a commercial, we'd see a disclaimer about who paid for it. If someone is being paid to post online for a candidate, why shouldn't they have to disclose that as well? Next we might have a ministry of social media in case people forget what to think.

Yes. The RNC was at least entertaining.

I hope this isn't gonna be the train wreck the first few days of the RNC was.

It looks like DWS is resigning but its OK - because Hillary has already hired her.

Actually, I'm fine with that. DWS was already stumping for Clinton, now it's just official.

Right, just bring the corruption home.

It's like politicians getting high paying consultant jobs after they're out of office from companies they curled up with during their tenure in office.

But again, it's just more of a sign of what's wrong with both parties. They pick who they want to run and find ways to make it a reality.

Like Trump or not, he was never who the RNC wanted.

Re: The DNC Convention Thread

Pretty much everyone in the DNC is going to be touched by it. The leader had to fall on the sword for it.

But they're in the middle of the campaign, so it's not like they can really clean house now. And at this point, a Hillary-centric platform is what makes sense anyway. Months ago, it's a corrupt stance, now, it's what they need to do for November.

I'm watching the DNC coverage on MSNBC right now, and it's a hoot. So many Bernie chants from the crowd. The convention should be at least a little interesting...

Re: The DNC Convention Thread

There goes Hillary surrounding herself with those beyond reproach again.

"Though you are stepping down amid yet another scandal of impropriety that inexplicably finds me, I want to reward your unethical behavior by letting you work in my campaign, which is more transparent than any in history."

Is Blumenthal going to speak?

Re: The DNC Convention Thread

There are way more leftists protesting at the DNC than there were at the RNC. These plans were made far ahead of the recent email scandal. From my perspective, protesting is fine as long as there are productive goals. Unfortunately, some people just want to cause trouble. For example, demanding that Sanders become the nominee OR ELSE is counterproductive and unrealistic.
