Why did Obama do this?

Does he really think people won't notice this?

In case anyone says "It's just YouTube, anyone could have edited it," you can tell them that Ken Burns, whose YouTube channel this is on, is an award winning documentary maker for PBS. This video has NOT been altered.

Re: Obama removed "under God" from the Gettysburg address

There are five different copies of the Gettysburg Address. The two in the Library of Congress do not include "under God".

This took 5 minutes to research. Once again, your outrage is misplaced.

Just try to find "under God" in either the Nicolay or Hay versions:

This is part of Ken Burns' challenge to learn the Gettysburg address by heart which several politicians and celebrities have done.

Apparently the President recited the original draft of the address.

Re: Obama removed "under God" from the Gettysburg address

"Under God" wasn't on the teleprompter.

But what a flat, uninspiring performance.

If Daniel Day Lewis had done that he wouldn't even have been nominated. (Yes, I know the Gettysburg Address was not in the period the movie covered.)

And what Draven said.
