In any case, it's insulting we have somebody propped up to tell people they are making the wrong decisions when voting. Insulting.
How would you like it if the DNC told you who to vote for?
Oh wait. You'd do it without question.

Just replace Homer's face with Trump's, and this is pretty much GOP headquarters right now.

I've been reading rumors that if Trump is the Republican nominee, the RNC will field a third-party establishment candidate.
A) Is it even possible to get on the ballot in every state and DC at this point?
B) Would this spell the end of the Republican Party?

I'd read some speculation that they were looking to nominate someone on the Constitution Party's ticket, basically using an existing third party that already has ballot access.

The same thing as a Texan voting for Hillary accomplishes, or a Californian voting for Trump. But for some reason that's a perfectly respectable decision; it's only when the candidate who has no chance of winning is in a third party that it becomes crazy.

One minor but still noticeable difference is that the people who vote for the opposing candidate in a locked-up state are never quite as pleased with themselves as those who vote third party. But then I expect that whoever eventually finds the cure for cancer won't be, either.

Have they done one of those for the Democrats? It reminds me of the Watter's World people-on-the-streets segments and the "ban the 1st Amendment" petition segments.

Hmm, from what I've heard, it's nearly impossible to deny Trump the nomination IF he receives the necessary amount of delegates. The fact that the RNC is actually thinking of doing something against the wishes of the voters in their own party is mind boggling. But then again, all I've ever known are conventions based on actual voters voting in primaries.

Seriously, it just frustrates me when I see people who I know are smart falling for the same kind of pie-in-the-sky naive plans that I see from 20 year olds who post things to Reddit like "Hey, I think I read somewhere that some big number of Congressmen (something like 80% of them?) are also up for election this year. Is that true?"
And it just makes me sad, because we have these people who don't even have an 8th grade understanding of civics, but they are so absolutely 100% convinced that the system is rigged and they know exactly how to fix it. And then I see people who I know do have an understanding of how the system works who think that writing in Bernie Sanders is going to make Congress say "Holy shit, you guys. Bernie got a bunch of write-ins. We'd better pass campaign finance reform and reinstate Glass-Steagal!"

I know I sound incredibly naive, but I'd rather try to change the system within its current setup than throw up my hands and say fuck it.

He won't. He may win it, but he won't be it. I have a friend who is a lobbyist in DC. He's been on Hannity. Big conservative. He told me that they are having those discussions now, and it is essentially give up and go for holding all seats, or think of someone to run soon. But they won't have Trump as the Republican nominee. When McConnell comes out and says as much, you know the RNC isn't going to actually back Trump.

If the RNC wants to take a risk and have Trump go Independent, I'd be more than happy to vote for Trump on a 3rd ticket.
Republicans wouldn't stand a fucking chance and they'd appear even more pathetic. Trump AND Hillary would eat the Republican Party for breakfast.
And then shit them out like a Taco Bell burrito a few minutes later.
Bring it, I say.
If the RNC really wants America to see them for what they truly are, all by themselves...without Trump taking a lot of heat for just being a Republican, they must be like me at a restaurant slapping the ketchup bottle happy for the last drop of juice for my french fries.
And do we really think Republicans will be solidified without Trump? Nope.
Like I've said for quite some time. I admire the DNC for their genius plans on keeping their voters tame, docile, and satisfied. They keep most of their people in line and tell them who to vote for and even what movies they should watch. Regardless of the dissent, they keep everyone in their positions. They solidify immediately when attacked. And this is the big difference. THEY SOLIDIFY WHEN ATTACKED.
Republicans just sound like a bunch of whiny whores who can't get give enough $5 blow jobs to keep their pimp happy.
