Re: The 2016 Presidential Election thread

I can just imagine the discussion at the Bush Thanksgiving table every year.

Barbara: Georgie you kept us safe on 9/11, darling
George: I know I did mama, I know I did
Jeb: Yes you sure did Bro' safe as can be. Super safe!
George: Yeah I did, Jeb!

Yep'. The Republicans (and their controlled media and pundits) have backed their rhetoric into a corner over the past seven years. It's so absolutist, that I don't understand how they're going to spin their own failures.

Bush and the republicans don't count 9/11 as an attack. It was a mulligan.

Then it's a good thing the Dems never, ever blamed Bush for it.

Re: The 2016 Presidential Election thread

Well the Bush admin did receive warnings that Bin Laden was going to attack so it is his fault. Same with Katrina. Then you throw in the thousands of US troops he got killed "to keep us safe" and he is responsible for more death than small pox.

I've seen high school student body president nominees that are better politicians.

They've been spinning it. If they lose an election it's because the Democrats give people hand outs and you can't compete with that.

They are already spinning in case they lose in 2016. It will be because voters are to ignorant to understand the issues.

Republicans cannot understand how any intelligent person who works for a living could disagree with them.

I am certainly not a Bush fan (either of them) but I don't see anything wrong with any of the answers in that interview.

Re: The 2016 Presidential Election thread

Jeb says that we should ignore events before and on 9/11 and focus purely on events afterwards. Even using that (dubious) standard, his brother failed by leading the US and its allies into the Iraq War. Thousands of American soldiers died in Iraq, and thousands more were harmed physically and mentally. Moreover, the war arguably made the US a bigger target of terrorists. The war itself and prisoner mistreatment were and continue to be recruiting tools used by terrorist groups.

He sid HRC and the State Department had the responsibility of securing the facilities in Benghazi but doesn't see that GWB also had the responsibility to securing the country when repeated threats of attack via airliners were crossing his desk and coming from his advisors like Richard Clark.

60 people died in embassy and consulate attacks under George W. Bush. There was zero Republican outrage. Now, they want to use the deaths of four Americans for political partisan purposes.

I saw some Republican fuck posting pictures of the charred body of Christopher Stevens on Twitter. No shame.

When it comes to backing rhetoric into a corner...that will never happen with the microsecond memory of Americans and sensational hype being spooned into their massive stomachs every day.

Just like Democrats spin their failures. You simply repeat nonsense until the media stops hounding you, and eventually, everyone forgets. And if you're smart, you'll let the polarized media take a story and spoon it to their viewers for you. Fox News and CNN/MSNBC have done wonders for political agendas.

If Biden decides this late to run, he is doing so because he is being pushed to. No serious candidate starts now.

Biden just wants to get through one debate without people making fun of his weird responses, and he if Trump gets the Republican nom he'll finally have a chance.
