I was thinking...we've had no Italians as President (yet)!

Mayor LaGuardia from the 1930's had integrity, he was smart, he fought against corruption...he might have been a good president, except he was an italian.

Mayor Guilani from the 1990's had integrity, he was smart, he fought against corruption...he might have been a good president, except he didn't run.

I'm glad Barack Obama was elected president (not italian), if only to break the monotony.

It's funny to see the words Giuliani and integrity used in the same sentence.

Italians are not able to run for President. Americans of Italian descent are if that's what you mean.

It took a long time for an 'Italian' to be a SCt justice. I think there's a lot of people who wish there wasn't an 'Italian' on this Court.

How do we know Obama isn't Italian when he won't release his birth certificate?

Damn, beat by MoviePage.

I can't seem to find any evidence to the contrary, though it looks like he is related to Cheney:

Presidential Kin

Obama’s family timber makes him kin to at least eight American presidents. Named with the common ancestors, they are: James Madison [Edwin and Martha (Eltonhead) Conway], Woodrow Wilson [Edward and Elizabeth (Blossom) FitzRandolph], Harry Truman [Mareen Duvall], Gerald Ford [Joseph and Rose (Allen) Holley], Lyndon Johnson [Phillip and Maria (Schmidt) Ament], Jimmy Carter [Adrian and Mary (Disharoone) Gordy], George Bush Sr. and George Bush Jr. [Gov. Thomas and Mary (Richards) Hinckley]. Dick Cheney is also a Mareen Duvall descendant.

I didn't realize Guilani has a shady past. If he lacked integrity, and was less than a righteous fellow, I didn't realize it.

That's forgivable. He was pretty much out of it by the time the primaries started. It was a rare shining moment for the carbon blobs.

I thought he just "considered" it for a moment, but he had the cancer scare and didn't want the burden of presidency.

If LaGuardia was so great, they wouldn't have named the eastern seaboard's shittiest airport after him.

One thing we know for sure now, americans trust italians even less than they trust kenyan terrorists.

I'm not sure the country is ready for all State of the Union addresses to begin with "Itsa Me!"

How about more races like the latter era of the Roman empire when a couple of barbarians were emperors.
