Maybe a dialog about $250K < x < $1 million would find a value of x on which compromise is more possible. But apparently, because the Great One uttered the figure, no other level can be considered.

On the other hand, the more he raises the figure, the more it is exposed as "rob the rich." A guy making %249,999 can't afford $1 more, but we can jigger the rates and surcharges and deduction rules and and and so the the guy making $250,001 pays thousands more?

If everybody likes government spending so much, everybody should kick in and pay for it. (or vote for politicians more likely to cut spending, which is my plan, although I admit many of them lie about their plan and do the opposite after election)
I pretty much agree with you. I'm not sure this is true though: "the guy making $250,001 pays thousands more."

That is the problem with "debate" in our country right now. There is so much hyperbole. I still can't believe all the outrage there was for not recommending annual exams (I forget the exact exam) for ladies under a certain age. You would think woman would have been happy to not need a painful exam every year. But no, the recommendation was the first step towards killing woman to save money.

No, they wanted to be assured that basic healthcare would be available to them regardless of their employment status, age, or existing condition without it bankrupting them.
Oh, well obviously that is what we got from the Obamacare plan and everyone is happy. They must have supported it all the way through and finally given the Kennedy seat to a Republican to make sure the bill got through.

Yes, all that must be true if what you say is true. Because we all knew what was in the legislation, and we took care of such important legislation in a methodic manner.

Okay so seriously, why is Boehner so red? Is is it poorly tinted tanning cream or something?

I'm guessing it's an artifical tan. Maybe Ohio gets a lot of sun....or all those golf-outings w/lobbyists bronzed his skin. Whatever it is....it doesn't look right and I'm surprised someone in his staff doesn't give him a heads-up.

You have a short memory about how all of the meat was taken out of the bill.

Maybe he wanted to project himself as a minority....get the Injun vote?

Or to try to be the only black man in the party (Michael Steele is still, somehow, less 'black' than.....say, Human-tortoise McConnell).

Either way, it looks like he tripped in some mud/clay and just "went with it." He also looks like he just woke up from a week long bender and sounds like he smokes like a chimney.....though I've heard he has the voice of a true castrato.

As I recall, it was because the Democrats demanded it. At the time, you had the majority of the House and 60 Dems in the Senate. You're not going to suggest that Republicans got the "meat" taken out, are you?

You had a situation where Democrats were trying to appease their constituents while trying to appease the administration. Couldn't do both then, and you still can't because the administration and the constituents are still at odds. The constituents still love America.

As a result of a coordinated attack of untruths and scare tactics by the right wing. This conservative Dems, scared shitless of losing their lap of luxury, folded like a card table. That have their government healthcare.

That's an expensive room. It was one room, right? Or are you hyperbolizing yet again?

We're making fun of Boehner's skin color in this thread? I thought we didn't do that kind of stuff anymore in 2010.

We have come so far as a nation, yet we're still not ready for a Smurf president.

Those darn Republicans still controll everything, even when they have no power.

And to do that to the Democrats who only tell the truth about things like the Health Care bill.

I posted that without a smilie initially. But then I read it.
