Images from after the Tea Party rally, Beck rally, and Obama inauguration

This does not surprise me. Contrast the two different political philosophies: one which is based primarily on self reliance vs. one which expects the government to take care of everything.

Here's the Mall after the Beck Rally:

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NioIQc6hA8M?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NioIQc6hA8M?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

And here's the Mall after Obama's inauguration:

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PMrJE7J3fWU?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PMrJE7J3fWU?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Wow, the Obama administration really did a great job of turning the mall into a beautiful green-space for people to gather.

Conclusion: Democrats are a bunch of uncaring slobs.

Could the seasons have something to do with how the landscape looked?

Absolutely. One of the photos was shot during trash season.

I suppose the grayish-white stuff is snow, and the weather explains it vs green. It doesn't explain the mess.

Because Beck drew nearly 2 million people like the inauguration. There are 20,000 more people inside a Penn State football game than were at Beck's evangelical service.

Re: Images from after the Tea Party rally, Beck rally, and Obama inauguration

Two points.

First, no offense grundle, but I don't trust your links. I have zero confidence that whoever put those pictures together didn't find the messiest inauguration photo he could and compare it to the cleanest Beck photo he could find. And I'm not sure where that Beck video was taken, but it doesn't look like it's near the Lincoln Memorial, which is where people were gathering.

Second, you have to compare the numbers. How many people were at the inauguration vs. at the Tea Party rally vs. at the Beck rally? What kinds of trash facilities were available at each?

I'm not trying to excuse the littering, and anybody who left trash on the mall at any of those events ought to be ashamed of themselves. I just don't buy that it demonstrates some larger point about liberals vs. tea partiers.

There's only one conclusion we can reason.

The Beck people believe that cleanliness is next to Godliness.

The inaguaration attendees were slobs.

That's reasonable, isn't it?

Or that the city wasn't adequately prepared for 2 millions people on the mall that cold day. And that Beck hired some private crew to come in and clean everything up so he could use these videos on his show Monday afternoon.

I wish Wikipedia would reinstate grundle so he can stop posting his fucking bullshit here. It used to be amusing, but now it's just obnoxious.

Or why are environment-rapers picking up their trash while a supposedly green crowd leaves it everywhere.

What is wrong with grundle's post?

I see absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Could the reason be that you believe this thead is bullshit is that you just don't agree with it?

People that attended the presidential inauguration are all card carrying "green crowd" members? What?

It's good that you're skeptical. I don't necessarily trust those links either, and it's certainly possible that this could be wrong.

But as far as the number of people is concerned, that doesn't matter. Responsible people carry their trash with them, until they find a proper place to put it. Just because there are no garbage cans nearby is no excuse to throw trash on the ground.

Of course not every Democrat litters. I know plenty of Democrats who carry plastic bags with them when they go on walks so they can clean up other people's litter. But overall, there is a difference between a culture that believes in self responsibility and a culture that expects the government to do everything.

It's like how there's also a difference between the two different gun cultures. At gun shows with thousands of people and thousands of legal guns, no one ever gets shot. But in certain neighborhoods with criminals and illegal guns, lots of people get shot.

I love how the post-Obama 2009 photo shows someone apparently completely abandoned in their wheelchair. I'm surprised the post-Katrina looting guy isn't in the photo somewhere

3. designating Christians, esp. of the late 1970s, eschewing the designation of fundamentalist but holding to a conservative interpretation of the Bible.

I would think he's an evangelical if you leave out no. 5 - wouldn't you say?
