Mod note: Please read the 'PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING' thread in Politics Talk. We've cleverly hidden it as a sticky thread with all-caps in the title. When you read it, make sure you ignore the part that says, 'no fixing of posts.' Thank you.

For the record, the "fix" had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with Lady Gaga's potential full-frontal dudity.

Depends on the royalties, I suppose.

Harper Collins isn't running for president... yet.

It says she spent $63,000. How many books could that buy? Probably enough to be a rounding error in the first week sales.

Now if you could also prove how FOXNEWS is the most trusted in a news poll you may have something.

Oh, she's a regular Jim Wright. Except she's not in office and doing this to get around income rules.

Palin wants Rahm Emanuel fired for using the word retarded:

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...id=dbHW4Bh2E04

I'm not a big fan of the word...I especially hate it when I hear teenagers use it constantly...but having him fired is a little too much.

Would it better to 'ask him to resign?'

There's gotta be a statute of limitations or something for words that were not offensive but later deemed politically incorrect. Words like "retarded" and "crippled" when used back in the day weren't intended to offend or demean. But at some point they became politically incorrect and replaced with "special" and "differently abled".

We're already at a point in society where the word "special" is being used in a derogatory way. The collapse of society may not come from a nuclear attack, or even financial... but from it's inability to communicate effectively.

After the Letterman dust-up, I can only conclude that Palin is like that one bitch in the office who's always trying to get someone fired.

Handing this raving psychopath the presidency would be a disaster of epic proportions.

Statute of limitations? Mental Retardation is a perfectly valid medical/psychological term still commonly used among doctors and psychologists (still in the ICD and DSM)...

Re: Is Sarah Palin going to be our next President?

Calling Rahm to resign or be fired over such a statement is very Palinesque. It's about as deep as her commentary runs, I'm afraid.

Somebody wants to hand the Presidency to Rahm Emanuel?

News to me.

I knew somebody would break out that response, but then what they did would have to be essentially the same for The Other Party Did It First/Worse response to make any sense, and I was saying it wasn't. It's hardly a scandal.

I agree he said it behind closed doors.
It's not like he said out on camera for the news media.
If he was to get fired for this it's like where is our freedon of speech?

Re: Is Sarah Palin going to be our next President?

Mod note: Generalization removed

Edit: You removed the entire post completely, not the single line that could have been considered generalization.

What I posted was that Mrs. Palin said during her speech at the Tea Party convention:

"America is ready for another revolution and you are a part of this,"

If that isn't inciting violence and division in the US, I don't know what is.
