You seem to confuse CBS News and 60 minutes. You accuse CBS News of ignoring the Reid story, which they haven't. 60 minutes did not include it as part of their story, but that's their call.

And as for the Reid "story"; Reid has apologized, Obama has accepted. Move On.
Years to prepare?

How do you prepare yourself to be president?

As far as qualified is concerned - I believe Palin meets the qualifications as forth in The Constitution.

As far as Biden is concerned - I believe you'll find a bunch of folks who believe he's made far more ridiculous comments than has Palin. And, I like Biden.

Does a one-term Senator mean you're prepared to be president. Now I'll argue that Obama was more qualified to be a federal judge, because he did have years of experience in that area - zero executive experience.

Obama hadn't even finished a single term in the Senate. He is the least prepared ever. I don't think Palin was prepared by any means, but I am amused when people try to compare Obama to Palin. One was a VP nominee for a reason. The other should have been.

Neither should have been. The thought of someone as inexperienced as Obama being a heartbeat away from the presidency is frightening!

So now that governor Palin is going back to her first career -- broadcast journalism* -- here's a clip of her days as a local sports anchor. Ignore the inane annotation about Trig that whoever uploaded this to YouTube added.

* For certain definitions of journalism, but let's give Fox the benefit of the doubt.

forget the part about the faked pregnancy.

She had serious 80s hair. That was about the last time I had any hair.

If we had a video of Obama at the same moment that was filmed, would he be in Hawaii doing cocaine, or just marijuana?

Sarah Palin was a sportscaster in 1987 and 1988. At that time, Barack Obama was working as a community organizer in Chicago and getting ready to go to Harvard Law School.

So I guess the answer would be cocaine.

So he'd be telling people how to set up brothels with underaged girls?

Back to the question in the subject header, I don't think Palin would have accepted the Fox gig if she was seriously considering running in 2012. It's not the usual progression.

So you think Huckabee is out as well?

I actually agree with you, given the timing. Huckabee started his show at a much more appropriate time to consider a '12 run.

One of the things about Palin I like is she doesn't do things the "usual" way.

Re: Is Sarah Palin going to be our next President?

How much is she guaranteed up front in this deal? Is it enough to fund a presidential bid? That would be interesting on a whole lot of levels.

I think that as well. But i also don't think she would have quit as gov. if she planned to run.

Re: Is Sarah Palin going to be our next President?

I disagree with both of you.

I don't think her quitting as governor or her taking the job with Fox means that she's not going to run.

She may not, but I don't think either one is any indication.

Re: Is Sarah Palin going to be our next President?

IMO, her quiting as governor, writing a book, taking a job with Fox, etc. is for one reason - she wants to make a bunch of money. Now what she does with that money?

So what if Fox gives her enough money for the show up front to fund a presidential bid? Would that be interesting or would that be interesting?

I wouldn't have considered quitting job as governor the 'usual progression,' either.

Re: Is Sarah Palin going to be our next President?

What is this 'progression' stuff?

There's no set way. Different candidates have chosen different paths to running for elective office.

The ability to raise the money is a hell of a lot more important than the path.

Being a Senator is not the usual progression. Apparently we are now finding out why.

Re: Is Sarah Palin going to be our next President?

I guess I will be the only poster to support Palin if she runs. Do I think the Repubs could produce a more viable candidate? Of course. Would she be my first choice? No. Would I like her to have a bit more foreign policy experience? Sure. If she won the nomination would I support her? Hell yes. I would rather Palin than ANY liberal at this time. That includes the dim bulb clusterfuck we have in the White House today.

I do not let the media decide what I think about a politician, especially about the intelligence of any conservative. As a person who has known about Palin since she was a mayor I have had time to make up my own mind and like what I see. During her run for governor I had many long talks with my father who is active in the state’s politics and still resides in Alaska. She was definitely unjustly maligned and I think a lot of weak minded people allowed there opinion to be swayed.

You're not alone.

I don't expect her to run in 2012. And if she did, I'm not sure I'd vote for her in the primary. But even if Palin's the drooling imbecile that the left believes her to be, she'd still be better than another 4 years of Obama.
