Want to get elected? Carry Missouri!

The Show-Me-State has given their electoral votes to the winning presidential candidate for TWELVE consecutive elections, the longest current winning streak of any of the states. Here are the Top Ten....

State (Streak) Since (Last Incorrect)
MO (12) 1960 (1956:Stevenson vs Eisenhower)
OH/KY/TN (11) 1964 (1960: Nixon vs Kennedy))
AR/LA (9) 1972 (1968: Wallace vs Nixon)
NV (7) 1980 (1976: Ford vs Carter)
WV (4) 1992 (1988: Dukakis vs Bush)
FL/AZ (3) 1996 (1992: Bush vs Clinton)
(corrected)

I don't know how much I'd trust a list that had a dead man running for president in 1964.

Also, I don't think Stevenson or Eisenhower ran in 60

Kentucky's primary is in May. How many others are later primaries? Easier to pick the final winner if the "front runner" has already been established by then.

in other words, NH just picked McCain/Iowa Huckabee, but what if Ron Paul gets the nomination? But if Dr Paul has gained momentum by May, he might take the later states, so they're more likely to get it right.

Looks like I got a couple of the "last incorrect" elections wrong by one cycle. Here's a correction:

State (Streak) Since (Last Incorrect)
MO (12) 1960 (1956:Stevenson vs Eisenhower)
OH/KY/TN (11) 1964 (1960: Nixon vs Kennedy)
AR/LA (9) 1972 (1968: Wallace vs Nixon)

Florida doesn't belong on the "got the last 3 elections correct" list -- they voted for Gore in 2000, but Bush wound up as President.

Spoiler:

That's a joke, son!
