I'm sick of politicians proposing things they know nothing about

edit: since it will come up, a barrel shroud keeps you from accidentally getting burned by the barrel on some guns, and purposely hold the front for long periods on others

Wow, sad. Nice move by Tucker seeing an opportunity and going for it.

thanks for the pics mikehunt, never much heard about this before

I found some more for anyone else:
From Wikipedia (I know, not the best source, but still): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrel_shroud

Barrel shrouds have little if any effect on the ballistic performance of the weapon to which they are installed other than offering an additional grip to help control recoil.

I thought it was the thing on your shoulder that goes up?

Is she referencing a folding/collapsible stock?!

Those sure do look scary!!! Are they more deadly than a hunting rifle or a a shotgun used for hunting ducks?

Yes, absolutely. A Bushmaster is far more deadly than a comparable .223-chambered hunting rifle. The barrel shroud puts an extra-deadly evil spin on the expended bullet that causes it to do far more damage when it hits a human target. There have been some reports of gunshot victims (those lucky few that survived anyway) actually contracting Legionnaire's Disease, rabies and other fatal diseases from the wound.

I think that is the rationale behind most of California's gun laws.
