Can Hollywood hurt Obama?

The last Presidental election had voters like myself turned off by Hollywood stars like Michael Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, Chevy Chase talking trash that we didn't vote Democratic. So can Hollywood do more harm than good to Obama?
Like the Dixie Chicks were at his Hollywood fundriser last week.

Based on your other posts, I'd guess that you wouldn't vote democratic regardless of Hollywood influences.

I imagine most people are the same way. They get annoyed at celebrities mouthing off about politics, but it doesn't change their vote.

Only time this might matter is between two candidates that are ideologically similar.

To answer the poll, celebrities have every right to back up candidates they want to win. Doesn't matter to me. Although the massive ass-kissing they gave Gore at the Oscars was pretty nauseating.

If this is the kind of post we can typically expect until November 5, 2008, it's going to be an even longer presidential campaign that I thought.

You wouldn't vote for Kerry because of what Chevy Chase had to say?

You wouldn't be laughing if you saw Cops and Robbersons.

Have you seen her or heard her? She asked America to spy on him to let her know if he sneeks a smoke while on the campaign trail. She said that with him on stage. I don't think race is a big deal, but if something confirms a stereotype in people's heads (like Black women pushing around their husbands), then it will hurt him.

And the next one will most likely start by March 2009. Get used to it.

I really don't base anything on what a celebrity does or doesn't do, so they're free to support whomever they want.

I never voted before until the last Presidental election and what gave me the drive to go register and vote was all the celebs at the time telling to vote Democratic. You remember MTV's CHOOSE OR LOSE, Puff Daddy's CHOOSE OR DIE, Bruce Springsteen with his Kerry concerts, Dixie Chicks,Chevy Chase,Whoopi,George Cloony comments. And of course Michael Moore. And after the election there were reports that a lot of American voters were turned off by the Hollywood and voted Republican. Because the House & Senate is Democratic, I would vote Democratic. The Republicans had their chance and it seems both sides are for illigals coming in as they please, so I'll be voting Democratic.

It should be "illigal" to form your opinion simply because it is the opposite of some celebrity's.

It's a toss-up which is more damaging to a political candidate - to be the darling of Hollywood or the darling of the media.

I personally believe being the darling of the media is more damaging.

Unfortuantely for Obama - he's the darling of both.
