What do you think? I really don't think so. The media may like to think that we are there but we aren't there yet and won't be there for at least 20 more years.

Paging Dalvin to this thread.

My answer is yes, if they are a Republican. So, therefore, the answer for 2008 is no.

Evenutally they will, and maybe even sooner than 20 years... I don't think either of the people for 08 has a chance though.

Wonder which runs deeper. Racism or sexism. Would males vote for any guy, regardless of race over a woman, or, would whites vote for any white person, regardless of sex over a minority. I think we'll have a African American male president before a woman.

Hillary has too much baggage and she is from a Northeast state.

Obama has very little national governing experience.

Those are the reasons why neither of them will probably win. It's not because one is black and the other is a woman.

Will America vote for a woman or racial minority over a Mormon?

African American male? No. White woman? No. African American woman? It could be done. Not sure why I think that is more possible (not thinking of Condi), but I do.

Now you're getting into too many variables.

IMHO Obama has a better chance than Hillary. I might be banking too much on the public being sick of the Bush/Clinton oligarchy though.

Not unless there was a drastic change in the nation's racial populations and as Maureen Dowd likes to say - America wants a daddy in the captain's chair.

How about a non-congregational, bi-sexual, mixed race she-male? Couldn't lose.

I don't think Richardson's race would be a big issue for him. It probably helps that his name is Richardson.

If Romney starts doing well, someone will just put out a press release about Kolob and let him defend that for a while.

I doubt it too. We'll probably elect some old white dipshit like Guiliani or (shudder) McCain.

I agree Obama has a better shot than hillary, but at least for 2008 I don't see him having a real shot. He has no experience or real qualifications
hillary is starting out with at least half the country flat out hating her, Obama at least doesn't have that to over come

black woman - possibly

black man - no

white woman - yes. I thought it would be a Republican woman. However, after the absolute debacle that the Repubs have made - Hillary has a better than 50% chance, IMO.

I would support David Palmer but not Wayne Palmer. Wayne is too weak.
