Do you ever check the regional election results after you vote?

I didn't really think this was a political subject, more a personal habit regarding a political act. (Please, no politics.) That being said:

Last time I voted for Governor, Local Rep and all the Props, I never went back and checked to see if my side came through. I felt like Iíd done my duty and what would be would be.
Hell ! I donít even know who our rep is, but I voted. Does this make me officially cynical?

How about you? Did you vote and check the results or not (or not and not?)

After you vote, do you just walk away, or do you hound the news, like a crazy, rabid newshound?

Oh yeah, I always check the county by county breakdown after a major election. I've been doing that since before I could vote.

I didn't feel this was political (please-no politics here) just your personal style of a political act.

I always check the local elections. Not every 10 minutes or anything, and sometimes not until the next day (when a winner is announced in the local paper), but I always do.

When bothers me is when you have to vote for little rinky-dink positions, like junior assistant backup librarian's helper, and you don't know the candidates. I check the state's website a few days out and do quick research on many positions, but some people just don't have a website, their positions in the paper, or even a hit in Google. Most of the time, local papers are pretty good about including atleast a paragraph about the candidates for different positions.

In that case, I either vote on party lines or don't vote for that position at all.

Do I check? For small local elections, no. The Democrat always wins.

When I see these positions, I sometimes pick the guy from an alternate party like the green party. I then check the paper next day for my district and see I was the only one to vote for him in my district. I like seeing the 1 by his name knowing it was me.

I don't know about "rabidly hounding the news". But if you take the time to vote, why not want to know who wins?

It's pretty sad if he runs and doesn't even vote for himself.

Yes I check. I find it interesting how my community breaks down politically.
