Why no terrorist alerts lately? (and Bird Flu Alerts)

I was just thinking we usually have terrorist alerts especially over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. I'm talking about public terrorist alerts--ones you see on the major online and television news agencies.

Maybe terrorist threats are down in the US?

And why don't we have any Bird Flu alerts hitting the news agencies. They found a case in Canada, and yet I hear nothing about it. It was all scary and stuff when it was overseas but then it hits close to home and the news disappears on it?

Could it be the government and news agencies don't want to scare Americans this Thanksgiving?

You're not imagining it. Bush's stunning success is a major factor for the decline.

They don't want to mess with the Xbox 360 launch.

Major terrorist attacks succesfully carried out on U.S. soil by foreigners are still at a pace of what... every couple of decades?
