Sen. Bill Frist Addresses the Federalist Society

The Senate Majority has just finished an address to the Federalist Society's Annual Dinner, carried on CSPAN.

His principal topic was the Democrats' filibuster of judicial nominees.

His audience seemed to be in full agreement with him on the topic.

He stopped short of saying that the remedy would be a ruling from the chair that Rule 22 didn't apply to judicial nominees; but, I believe, from his remarks, that may be just what the Republicans do.

I believe this also will be the case, as it should be.

Too bad I didn't use my invite to this one.

It's easier to do it through a ruling of the chair.

With the increase of 4 Senate seats, the Repubs just might get a majority to sustain a ruling from the chair.

Drawback: It's possible, though it doesn't seem likely , that the Democrats might have a majority in the Senate one day.
