Moral Politics : How Liberals and Conservatives Think by George Lakoff

I read this book expecting a balanced view of both sides of the American electorate. I should have known better, how could I think a liberal, UC-Berkeley professor living an elitist lifestyle would know what voters in Lima, Ohio and Gainesville, Florida are thinking?

I hereby retitle this book "Liberal Politics: How Left-Wing University Professors Think." Enjoy!

Wow talk about living in a Black & White world, Seems that about 99% of his reviews are 5 star raves or 1 star trashings.

George Lakoff is a great thinker, even if I don't agree with his politics.

My favorite is the one where he goes off on Springsteen for becoming a liberal.

'Cause you know, up until now, Springsteen was known for being a moderate.

His review says "It was never a secret that Springsteen was a liberal..."

Anywhoo.

My review would have said:
"It was rumored that Springsteen was a commie pinko but this rumor has been confirmed by his latest political activities."

Aerosmith - You Gotta Move (Amaray Case)
I saw the A & E "You Gotta Move" special over the summer. It is incredible, and it's about time that Aerosmith released a live concert DVD. While this is more of a documentary, it's mostly filled with concert footage from the band's successful 2003 "Honkin' On Bobo" tour. I can't wait until this footage is finally on DVD!!!
He likes Aerosmith!

and then goes on to say "... but his ill-fated decision to merge music with politics this year put millions of life-long fans in a very difficult and unfair position." Sprinsgteen's been merging his music with politics for more than two decades: 41 Shots (American Skin). The entire Ghost of Tom Joad Album. Born in the U.S.A. The Entire Nebraska Album. Used Cars. Seeds. You've got to go back to Born to Run before you get to an apolitical Springsteen.

But you're right. I called him out on the wrong part of his little screed.

I never knew Aerosmith was a Republican band The only one he didn't give 1 or 5 stars was the 9/11 Commission Report. He gave it 3 stars and said it was too partisan
