Bush Voters/Clinton Voters

Just a little survey. My old roommate last night told me he voted for Bush, but I know he was also a Clinton fan. And it surprised me that he could think Clinton was a good president, but strongly prefer Bush to Kerry.

So I am just curious, we had 2 chances to vote for Bush and 2 chances to vote for Clinton. How did you vote in those 4?

Note: if you didn't vote in one or more of those elections, either because of age or other reasons, feel free to pick the poll choice that reflects who you would have voted for.

I voted as expected.

Your friend's vote does not surprise me. I would think there were many who did this, especially women.

I wasn't old enough to vote in '96, but even if I was, I wouldn't have voted for Mr. Clinton. But I admit Dole was not a strong candidate.

Didn't the NYT's Safire (Pro-Bush) vote for Clinton?

Dole was not a bad candidate - I liked him.

He ran a terrible campaign. His handlers simply wouldn't let him be Dole.

Poll might not get a good sample as many Dems are gone from these pages after Tuesday. (Yes...a lot still here, but the number has dropped for sure.)

I really liked Dole's idea of making English the official language.

I don't know, I think you've got to count the Perot factor. If Perot hadn't run I would've voted for Clinton more than once.

Hey I liked Perot! It was a safer more secure time and I thought it would be a fun 4 years. Ah, youth.....

Yeah, but you still think of him as "that rotten kid down the street"

haha, my dad did the same thing. He voted for Clinton the first time, then was disillusioned with the Dem treatment of doctors, so he voted Perot. I believe he's voted Bush twice now. (tort reform is almost a single-issue with him)

I wasn't old enough at the time, but I think I probably would've voted Clinton at least the first time.

I'm with C-man here. Although I never considered voting for Dole, I would have voted for him over either Bush, without hesitation.

from the looks of the results so far, it appears that the Dem's haven't taken flight as you suggest.

I almost didn't vote for him. Of course, I never would have voted for the alternative.

I voted for Clinton until I joined the military and discovered what a nightmare he was as CIC. I've voted for Bush twice. So, for me, 2 votes for Bush 1 for Clinton.

Voted for Clinton twice, voted for Bush 1st time, voted for Kerry this time.

Reason for voting for Bush over Gore - because Bush promised to be a COMPASSIONATE conservative, and Gore ticked me off for distancing himself from Clinton during the campaign.
