Can Someone Explain to Me ...

How can they "call" a state wth 1% of the precincts reporting? This was a huge issue in 2000, yet here we go again?

That's just crazy, though. What % of folks do they actually get to and yet they call a state based on that? I'm just amazed that it's a practice that is still accepted and networks report this stuff that seems like fact to most people.

Pretty sad that it comes down to networks racing to be the first to call a state based on freakin' exit polls.

Wow, love the impressive level of ignorance of statistics.

All of the networks said they'll only call elections if they have a 99.5% certainty of the outcome.

They were calling DE and DC with 0% reporting an yahoo.com a little while ago...
