Where's Edwards?

Much like the infamous Waldo, where is John Edwards? Has anybody spotted him? Is he hiding out in some courtroom? Is he the single most inconsequential VP nominee in the last thirty years?

Does anybody remember how he was going to not only deliver North Carolina to the Dems, but Sout Carolina as well? That was seriously stated here. Good stuff.

Saw him speaking at a rally in his home town last night on c-span.

Whether he was consequential or not is up for debate.

Out rallying for John Kerry. Like a good nominee.

At least he's not out figuratively holding up pictures of mushroom clouds to the audience like Dick Cheney and saying "This Could Happen to You, if your vote isn't Republican".

A joke of course. Cheney just gives me the heebie-jeebies with all his doom and gloom.

How short the GOP's memory is. Dan Quayle trumps Edwards in any contest of inconsequentiality.

The rest of the country is still waiting for your apology

I thought that Edwards would play a much more prominent role in the campaign than he has.

I wonder if the 'fact' that he and Kerry are (to say the least) not particularly fond of each other has anything to do with it?

Sorry to get off topic, but is it really true that Cheney voted against Meals-On-Wheels and Martin Luther King Day like Edwards said in the debate?

And to redeam myself for going offtopic, here is a map of their movement:

I would say the above post qualifies as being a 'little' off topic.

Yeah, but I didn't feel like digging up the VP Debate thread and posting on the 892nd page to get an answer. Feel free to ignore if you want.

But enjoy the map!

Sorry, keep waiting. I stand firmly by my statements.

I was not commenting on the qualities of the respective VP candidates, but on the roles they played and the attention they receive.

Not sure, but that addresses the larger point of my question. We all heard what a great candidate, what great politician, Mr. Edwards was. Heard how he should have been the nominee instead of Mr. Kerry.

What has he done for his campaign? How has he helped Mr. Kerry in what is shaping up to be one of the closest elections of our time? The answer is, he hasn't helped at all, he hasn't done anything. He is a useless pick, speaking strictly politically, who has brought nothing to the table. He hasn't helped with the married woman demographic, which is critical to Mr. Kerry's chances for victory, and he isn't going to deliver one single state, including his home state of North Carolina. He is no benefit to the Democratic ticket.

Mr. Kerry should have taken the advice of some here and chosen Mr. Gephardt. Oh well.

Like any of those things brought up in debates....Short answer "no" with a "but", long answer "yes" with an "if".

And meals-on-wheels is a program that often gives money to churches as part of various "faith based" intiatives. I would think you would have voted against it as well.

I thought Mrs. Edwards was quite an effective spokesperson.

She came to OK during the Democratic Presidential Primary, and I thought she was the most effective one of the bunch.

Not when you consider that in the latest polls, Bush is ahead in Hawaii, and they want to solidify that lead.

Agreed. The Kerry camp must finally be acknowledging that Edwards was not the wisest choice and has not been helping his campaign as they initially hoped.

I don't believe it shows that Edwards was not the wisest choice.

I simply believe it shows that the V.P. candidate doesn't really matter.
