Bush campaign to recut doctored ad photo

I didn't see this posted...I saw it on CNN a few minutes ago.

Cought red-handed. Not a big deal, but funny.

They had a picture of the re-cycled soldiers on CNN.

Found some pictures here (I guess the original source of the story)

Holy shit! It's a politician who spontaneously admits mistakes and personally accepts responsibility. Can we elect this guy instead?

he'll be forced into a minor role in some insignificant bureau, never to be seen again.

No room for intelligent people who take responsibilty in our government!

It's an important step in the fight against terrorism.

I don't know what bothers me more; that someone took the time to doctor these photos (I'm sure they could have found plenty of real ones for the same effect), or that someone took the time to inspect it that closley.

The fact that anyone even cares is a bit disturbing as well.

I would guess somebody just happened to notice it, got curious, and started looking for duplicates. Some people's pattern recognition skills are quite advanced, and it's not likey just turn them on or off at will.

It's just sour grapes. Bush stole Kerry's idea for having 40,000 more troops while blaming Republicans for Rangel's draft.

I don't understand what the big deal is about this picture for the critics.

On the other hand, I don't really understand why they would want to airbrush the President out of a flattering military backdrop picture either. x2

the article says something about the intended focus being the kid with the flag. I think someone probably thought the President would naturally become the focus, so they airbrushed him out.

Of course it's even less of a deal considering there were soldiers blocked by the podium, so really we're copying soldiers to fill in the space that other soldiers actually occupied.

it's all rather stupid.

Yeah, it's not real news or anything, but it's nice to see something humorous. The jokes alone are worth it.

I can see how someone might have noticed it. How many times do you need to see the ad before you become hypnotized by the pattern
