How many political phone calls have you been getting? (I got 15 today)

I live in a swing state Pennsylvania. Throughout the election I have gotten maybe 2 or 3 phone calls a week up until last week. Around Tuesday of last week I started receiving about 4 or 5 calls a day all ending up on my answering machine, starting Saturday that number rose to 10+ and today I had 15 and the fucking phone is still ringing.

I have been called by Kerry, Bush, Specter, Paterno, Holden, Bush Sr, Mrs. Bush, Bill and Hilary Clinton, Cheney and several local candidates.

I get home and there are 15 messages on my machine... *beep* Hi, this is John Kerry.. *fast forward* *beep* Hi, this is George Bush... you get the picture.

I don't care who wins I just want this election over!

Did I mention that I have gotten a mailbox full of political postcards as well?

I live in Iowa and have received about 5 per day. I also get 1 or 2 postcards in the mail each day. Everything so far has been from Republicans.

We got a few today (including a 12 year old girl who did a recorded message for her parents' party ), but that is what caller ID + answering machine is for. Little do they know, we voted last week.

I'm also in a swing state (OH), and have gotten a bunch - and they've really stepped up the past couple of days. But I've only received one call from a pollster.

Are these calls effective at all? They seem more annoying than anything.

I got one from Ed Koch the other day. Yeah, we're best buds.

About 2-3 recordings a day. An even split between local Democrats and Republicans

EDIT: I work nights so of course these calls come while I am asleep.

I, surprisingly, only got one today -- from Ed Koch (telling me to vote for Bush, of course). I've been getting as many as 5-6 a day.

I've lost count. The other day Bill Clinton called me on my cellphone asking me to volunteer. I'll be ecstatic when this election is over.

I got a poll call last week, and that's it.

But, of course, this is Maryland. And this state has been the Dem's bitch for years.

Can we please rename this thread to "How many people have called you and gotten a loud scream in their ear followed by a click in the past week?"

Democrat or Republican, get out of my ear. Don't they know I get enough of this crap on the internet all day?

3-4 a day, mostly those stupid recordings. I voted a week ago, so kind of a waste of their time.

The best ones have to do with a local race between Dave Ross (Democrat) and Dave Reichert (Republican). As far as I can tell from the calls and mailings, Dave Ross is a communist who wants to invite terrorists to move down the street, and Dave Reichert has Alzheimers. Highly entertaining stuff.

Amazingly similar to the presidential race.

0 - good to live in VA.

Of course, I never answer my home phone.

I did get a mailing from the national GOP a few weeks ago. It was a survey and then a request for a donation to help "keep liberal Democrats out of office." I wrote an IOU for $20 that said when "you all-talk Republicans actually reduce the size of the federal government, then I IOU $20."

None.

I live in Virginia. This state is not important enough for either candidate to campaign in.

They've been calling my cell phone so much, I'm keeping it turned off (except to check for messages) until next Wednesday.

The strange thing is that I've only gotten one call on my home phone.
