Do you think Hillary Clinton wants Bush to win?

I was thinking. She probably does. Otherwise, she'll have to wait until 2012 to run for President herself. And if Kerry does win and is re-elected, she'll be running right on the heels of an 8-year Democratic White House, when people are more apt to vote for a change.

If Bush wins, she can run four years earlier, in 2008. And it will be on the heels of an 8-year Republican White House, when people are more apt to vote for a change (this time in her favor).

Thoughts?

Hillary probably does, or probably wouldn't mind so much since after all it's easier/more fun to be in the minority because then everything is the majority's fault

Bill I'm not so sure about given his recent statements about wanting to make inroads into the UN. I suspect that'll be easier to do w/ Kerry in there.

No...and it's not even close.

Contrary to what folks like to think, the Clintons do care about the country, and whatever their ambitions (and rightly or wrongly) they have to believe that 4 more years of Bush would be terrible for the country.

Most folks with even the slightest leaning to the left feel this way about this election, and I find it impossibly hard to believe that the Clintons don't feel this way as well.

You're not serious, are you?

Hillary Clinton has a burning desire to be President. It's definitely to her advantage for Kerry to lose.

Newsflash: Folks on the left felt this way in 1972, 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988 and again in 2004. There's no difference. Don't be taken in by this media hype about how 'important' this election is to people. All presidential elections have some import.

Is this Rush? Limbaugh has stated this theory several times within the last 2 years.

As bfrank said, she'll be pleased either way. But part of me feels that she'd be happier to have the chance to run in 2008. I think she wants to be president more than Bill did.

It is so nice to have c-man back around. Truly a voice of reason. I think she would love it.

No. But I do think she'll become the first woman president of our nation.

But then, I think Bill will also be head of the UN as he's hinted at this past week.

Clinton World.

Yes.

I agree with Chess that she cares about the country, but unlike some foaming-at-the-mouth liberals she is smart enough to realize Bush isn't nearly as bad as they make him out to be. 4 Years from now, regardless of whether Bush or Kerry wins, the country will be about the same. But if Kerry wins she has almost no shot at the Presidency.

I don't think a woman has a shot at getting elected President anytime soon. I still think we'll see a black man become President first. They got to vote first. Besides that Hillary is too polarizing and she would constantly be accused of letting her husband run everything behind the scenes.

The real question is......does anyone realy think she could win?

I've talk to enough Liberals about this and only one said that the would vote for her.

All of them are voting for Kerry.

Added: I'm voting for Bush "Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice Rice"

Didn't Hillary poll lower than Kerry and Dean (and maybe others) against Bush around the primaries?

Wouldn't that be an ironic twist, considering it was the other way 'round previously?

Bill only cares about power, making money and getting bj's.
Hillary only cares about getting more power.

Hillary does not want Kerry to win. If he does, she will never be able to run for President. If Kerry wins she will have to wait 8 years to run for President. She will be too old by then.

It's 2008 or nothing for Hillary.

No. After all, I thought it was already decided that she will be next Chief Justice of the Supreme Court if Kerry wins.

I think Hillary Clinton will almost certainly be the first woman to think she has a chance at becoming President.

I think this may pave the way for a female president someday, but her chances of winning: about 1%

Maybe Halle Berry will step in someday.
