Frontline- Rumsfeld's War

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/pentagon/

Anyone see this last night. It was the political history of Rumsfeld (and Cheney) and how it lead to this war.

I think it would impact alot of swing voters if they saw it. I wonder if this was the point?

I saw most of it, and was very impressed. Everything I've seen and read about Mr. Rumsfeld confirms that he is an extraordinary public servant.

Rumsfeld is indeed a competent individual.

He has pissed people off (especially some retired generals) because he wants to make major force structure changes. Some old hats in the military are reluctant to change. This is clearly the case in the concept of light armor over heavy armor.

No doubt that it was powerful for both sides and seemed very fair.

But how do you think it would impact a swing voter?

It also gave me more respect for Powell and Shinzeki.

C-man did you dislike Powell before he got into politics. Seems like he was real import part of fixing our military after VN.

They'd probably switch back to the Red Sox - Cardinals game.

My disdain for Powell goes back to the Gulf War.

I have no respect for Powell.

However, I do hold him in just a tad more esteem than I do John McCain.

Rumsfeld may have been a useful public servant, but he seems to have been promoted past the level of his competence....Tora Bora? Iraq?

He's clearly the most competent Sec. of Defense since Mel Laird.

Same with me.

This was such an excellent program, both objective and fair.

If you’re not an avid PBS watcher, you’re cheating yourself of the best damn programs on U.S. television. Period.

If you are talking about political programs, I disagree.
