New Mexico is a 'battleground' state. The big money is pouring in. I'm sick of it.

We were on vacation for four days. When we got back there were 15 messages on our answering machine with prerecorded political messages. Doubtless there were many more from more sophisticated machines that don't leave messages. We're declining to answer two or three telephone polls a week. It's gotten to the point that we're reluctant to answer the phone.

Is anyone else getting this kind of telephone saturation?

Nope, but Laura Bush called me to help with the Republican effort to get out the vote. Guess she didn't know we had already voted Kerry.

I got 1, a republican, I quickly hung up the phone, don't call me at 9am after I got off work after working until about 2 am, as if that wasn't bad enough the call wouldn't end by just hanging up I had to pick up the phone 2 or 3 times before it'd quit ringing again,

I live in PA, a much more important battleground state in the scope of EVs. No phone calls for me, though. Every other TV commercial is for the election.

Yeah, TV is ridiculous right now. I don't have a landline phone, so no calls .

My TiVo and Cell Phone makes for some great political filtering.

I live in PA as well, and I get 2-3 calls a day, mostly recorded messages form one party or the other. I did get one call directly from a Congressional candidate - that was pretty cool.

I'm a Democrat, but the Republicans must have me on their list somewhere...I get about 3 recorded messages per day (more on weekends) from the Republican party, and they have included messages by:

George W. Bush
Fred Dalton Thompson
Ben Stein

among other, more local politicians.

Some of these are laughable in their context...most are the "vote for me, or the terrorists will blow up you and your family" kind, but the Ben Stein one was saying I shouldn't vote for Kerry because he's friends with the Hollywood establishment. Yeah, like THOSE guys are worse than Haliburton and Enron...

Cameron Diaz left me a message the other day telling me that a vote for Bush is a vote for legalizing rape.

Two words: Cell phone.

Although, sometimes I wish they would call me to poll me. Cell phones are excluded from the Presidential polls.

From SNL

Mary Beth Cahill: "You know who's never been polled in her life?
Mary Cheney"

Last week Howard Dean phoned me, then Zell Miller called. Ben Stein phoned me over the weekend. I fell asleep before I figured out if he was pitching Bush or Kerry...

j/k

Im in Nevada so I'm getting tons of calls

I just wish one time I heard "Hi, this is President George W. Bush" or "This is John Kerry" that it was real

It would make me feel like a big man

I heard that's how they got Red Dog's vote
