Time To Kill This Sub-Forum?

We have had no new threads in here in over 3 months, and only 2 new threads in the past half-year... one of which received zero comments after being opened; and the other "new" thread was also commenting about how dead this forum is.

Also, during the past 3 months, exactly ONE thread has seen activity, and it has garnered exactly FOUR posts.

I nominate Political Film to be closed or merged into the main Political forum.

Does it still have a sponsor? If not, kill it.

Re: Time To Kill This Sub-Forum?

Let's keep the forum. We just need to spice it up with more political doc reviews.

If we keep it, I get yelled at by posters.
If we kill it, I get yelled at by the web admins.

Where do I sign up?

Hmm, perhaps just rename it to the Mabuse subforum.

They won't kill it. I dare them to fucking kill it. I already did 7 months ago. We are living through perhaps, no fuck perhaps, we are living through [b]the[\b]most explosive period of political docs ever. It's obvious they don't want discussion of these subjects.

The fact that they haven't done this on their own yet tells you what we are up against.

Mods. Please close this sub forum. The top movie being discussed (Southside With You) isn't even a documentary.

To be fair, the name of the subforum doesn't specify documentaries.

Re: Time To Kill This Sub-Forum?

I would think a podcast forum would have a lot more traffic than a political film forum. I also don't think a political film forum makes any sense when there is already a movie forum.

But where do these films go? Politics or Movies? What if the commentary in the threads veer towards the political rather than the aesthetics of the film?

Re: Time To Kill This Sub-Forum?

Sixth post, third poster, in this subforum all year.

This reminds me of the pre-internet BBS days. My favorite BBS had a feature where you could pay for a private subforum. I hope Dave and DVDP don't mind me joining their little club.

Wait, where are your pants guys?!

I'll take "Oh look, someone posted in the 'Political Film' forum, perhaps I should investigate" for $400, Alex.

I'm pretty sure the only reason it exists is for an Ironweed Film Club sponsorship, and that ended years and years ago.

Please let the sub-forum stay. It's not hurting anything.

The mods should allow political discussions in Movie Talk when politics are pertinent to the content of a film.

Re: Time To Kill This Sub-Forum?

I dunno about that. I don't want politics to infect the rest of DVD Talk. It's not hurting anything staying here.

I hope they do not get rid of this sub-forum. It is a place I like to go when I need some peace and quiet...and a great place to hide out from the police.
