I wouldn't put Musk and Bezos in the same category. He's definitely deserving of a lot of criticism but I'd argue Musk has done quite a bit more to improve a lot of facets of life especially in terms of reducing the cost of space flight. Branson has never pretended to be anything but an adrenaline junky so at least I can respect that he isn't pretending to be someone he's not. Bezos on the other hand reeks of someone who just throws money at something hoping something develops without understanding a lick of what he's trying to do.

Yes, he gets negative points for tact, class, 'selective' memory, and general etiquette. Not a warm person at all, mostly full of himself. I'll take Shatner any day.

Agreed on the negative reactions to Takei's comments. I don't fully know what all happened 50+ years ago, but you'd think there would be a time when he'd just stop ragging on Shatner.

I saw some video of the few minutes they were weightless. The other passengers were floating around doing flips and stuff, Shatner was totally still, glued to the window. He looked like he couldn’t care less about the thrill of weightlessness, he was transfixed on the view.

I thought that was a pretty sweet juxtaposition of the motivations of those on the flight.

It’s really nothing new with Takei. I get it that it sounds like back in the day Shatner was a bit of an ass, and full of himself, but it sort of comes across like Takei needs to keep fanning the flame for his feud with Shatner or he’ll lose relevance. Shatner is clearly the more successful and well known of the two.

I love the reaction he's had and the renewed sense of importance about taking care of the Earth, but then... unnecessary trips to space kind of add to the problem of global warming, no? Surprised no one is being vocal like they were against DiCaprio speaking about climate change while taking flights on a private jet.
