^ replace than slobbering, mangling, menacing mutt with a cuddly adorable kitty cat, and it expresses sentiments perfectly!

When they were kittens, they had shortish hair like yours.

Both mine do. They're ragdolls, a breed sometimes called puppy cats. One fetches, one walks on a leash. Weirdly, one growls at strangers like she's an angry dog, so she has both good and bad dog behaviors.

Re: The Otter Farm Pet Thread

The foster mom says they're British Shorthairs but people who have seen them say they're Siamese. Gertie is a seal point and Gavin is blue lynx. They're going to the vet for booster shots in 2 weeks so I'll see what they think they are.

I've had many cats run to the door to greet me when I get home. My black cat Greg would sharpen his claws on my shoes, he started doing that when he was about the same size as my shoes.

Bug the cat runs to the door at any sound, and greets me when I enter as well.

Before my cat lost her hearing, she’d meet me at the door as well.

^ That's a beautiful cat, but are you sure of its age? You'll only enjoy about 5 years with him if he's really 10 years old. But, congratulations for you on taking him in! He will be grateful, indeed.

*sigh* you'd think so, but he chewed his way through the duct tape I'd covered the cat door with, forced open the screen door, and escaped overnight just a few hours after he got here. I've put food out for him and I'll keep the cat door accessible during my waking hours but I can't leave it that way all the time or my other two might get out. 😞

Not only beautiful, but a very smart cat as well. Well if he *truly* is smart, he will come back to you and realize how good things will be...

Wow, hope he comes back. I can't imagine how freaked I'd be if my dog ever escaped.

Still no sign of the escaped kitty. Knowing him, he schmoozed his way into somebody else's house.

Meanwhile here's a pic of Hermès.

Re: The Otter Farm Pet Thread

Aww Vibiana. Your cats are so beautiful. Hope your lost kitty makes it home, preferably to you, but at least to somewhere safe.

I've decided I don't have a cat. I have a kitchen otter. I'll try to take a pic, but basically, one of my cats likes to keep me company while I'm cooking--on her back with her feet tucked up like an otter. One of us, one of us! :-)

I was thinking about this the other day and was wondering if this cat might find their way back to your Niece's place? How far away is she?

Like 25 miles

We've had horrible weather the last few days and I've thought about him too, believe me. I wish I hadn't tried to save him.

He was found tied to a tree in Yonkers at only a year old. I always wonder why he was given up like that because he is such a great dog.

In that case, thanks for giving him a great home. I love dogs, but don't have it in me to give one the care it deserves, so I don't have one. Therefore, I have to be content admiring and loving up on those of others.

Good on you for recognizing that about yourself. Many people who don't understand that pets must be cared for and loved still selfishly get pets. And that's how dogs end up tied to trees.
