Short Round is my favorite movie character and it comes from the scene where Indiana says "This is my associate Mr Round"

Josh-da-man is actually my real name with some letters tossed out.
My first name is Joshua.
My middle name contains the letters "DA" (David, Adam, Daniel... like that).
My last name contains the letters "MAN" (Manning, Silverman, etc.)
In real life, I go by middle name instead of Joshua or Josh.

My original username was MeatheadBMC which was my online gaming name back in the Quake 2/3 days. I dropped the BMC years later after online gaming faded away.
Meathead... thanks Archie Bunker.
It accurately described my mental state after weekend lan parties playing rocketarena and ctf.

I thought it was an accidental leftover from when you had a new name every day, that it was just where you happened to be when the game stopped.

Way back when, the Crow: City of Angels teaser teased one Michael Corvin returning to avenge his death. Only when the movie came out they changed the character to Ashe Corven. Everyone always uses Eric Draven (even our DVDtalk's own Draven & I used it in my Gamertags), so I wanted something Crow related but less obvious.
Years later this asshat from Underworld came along and ruined it. I assume someone in Hollywood had the same idea to make use of a little known Crow reference.

I had a weekend job at a dive shop. One day a customer asked about a new dive computer we just got in the day before. I hadn't familiarized myself with it, so I opened the owner's manual and in bold print read MAX BOTTOM TIME. It reminded me of Max Headroom, and when I picked my first internet user name, it stuck.

Re: Any story/reasoning behind your username?
In case it's not obvious, my username combines my love of Star Wars and Pro-Wrestling. The Star Wars part should be obvious to pretty much everyone. Jabroni, which is the part which probably isn't as obvious, is a name for a wrestling talent whose main job is to put over other talents (IE lose).
One that I used to use a lot online before I came up with this one is CactusKind, which is a combination of two of Mick Foley's wrestling personalities (Cactus Jack and Mankind).

I used to loan out my DVD collection to my friends. At that time I had maybe a few hundred VHS tapes (and 75+ DVDs). Unfortunately, my movies weren't being returned, and I lost track as I didn't have DVD Profiler or any kind of system in place. I then started cracking down on my friends not returning my movies (was it too much to ask they return them within a month), they eventually called me the DVD Police (among other names as I'm sure you can guess) and thus....my name.

I've been playing with frisbees since I was 8 or 9 years old. I was a freestyler and disc golfer in my youth and for the last 40 years I've been competing in disc golf. If you live in San Diego and play disc golf there's a good chance know me.

I was born in 1923 and reached the rank of major during WWII.
Actually, when I signed up for my first email in 1997 I combined my love of David Bowie and Michael Jordan with my first name.

I like this thread so far, it's cool to hear the stories. I wonder what would happen if we flipped it and tried to guess on people's username origins before they tell us. Oh, well, I like this one, too.

My first job out of college was for a health care IT company called ViPS; employees were known as "Vippers." This was the second forum I joined, after Rotten Tomatoes, so I appended "II."
