Longest you ever had to wait for a domestic online order?

I ordered a video game directly from Sony and it left the warehouse in Kentucky on May 21st. And it was sent via Fed Ex.

Well, it's gotten stalled for some reason. It's now Day 17 and it has yet to arrive. I've followed the tracking history and apparently it's gotten stalled somewhere in Bloomington, CA. And I thought Fed Ex was supposed to be fast.

I'm going to assume that the protests could be a reason for the stall.

So what's the longest you all have had to wait for something you ordered within the U.S.?

Several times... most recently late Feb/early Mar. Amazon packed a cube shaped item in one of their small padded bags. Half the label was on one side of the cube and the other on another side. Took over two weeks to arrive.

Re: Longest you ever had to wait for a domestic online order?

Haven't gone as many as 17 days, but I've shipped a few packages in the last two months that have "stalled" for a week or more. Since the coronavirus lockdown, the post office seems to have staffing problems that slow things up. I've gone to the post office a few times when tracking shows no movement for a week and they say that it's not unusual at this point. Luckily, all the packages I've checked on eventually find their way to their destinations.

I would assume FedEx is having the same type concerns? But yeah, 17 days is a bit extreme and I'd be wantin' answers.

I ordered a new underwater camera housing from Backscatter.com (Monterey California) in December. It was backordered for a while, then when it finally arrived at their shop, they flooded it during testing. They had to send it back for replacement. I finally received it last week. Six months.

I occasionally subscribe to this retro video game blind box called Retro Game Treasure. My last box was sent out on May 21st. It shipped via USPS and came from Florida and itís gotten as far as Illinois. The last update was May 27th. I contacted the company and theyíre aware of slow shipping on some of their boxes. Itís one of the longest times Iíve waited for something in quite a while.

I've never had much issue with domestic orders but holy crap, shipping times are crazy for stuff I'm ordering from Europe right now with the pandemic and all. One CD took almost two months to get here, I had almost given up on it.

Re: Longest you ever had to wait for a domestic online order?

I had a shipment two weeks late for some Shutterfly magnets.

After the order was a few days late from arriving, I called Shutterfly and they sent the custom magnets again with 2-day shipping. Got them. About a week later, the original magnet order finally arrived from USPS (2 weeks late total). So now I had duplicate magnets.

But youíre probably wondering, thatís not a long time. Still to this day, the USPS tracking for the first order says it has never been ďdeliveredĒ haha

Am enjoying the return of "normal" threads amid a monopoly of COVID and political posts the last three months.

The longest I've waited had to have been over nine months. It was a special club game for a Colecovision Club on Atariage.

Re: Longest you ever had to wait for a domestic online order?

I had to wait about 2 months for the US Tartan dvd of Oldboy in 2005. It was back ordered when I preordered it on Deep Discount, and I probably could of canceled and ordered it from Amazon. Other than that it would probably be something from the UK or my recent Twilight Time order that took a month to ship.

Is it actually FedEX or is it FeDEX via USPS. Had one package take rather long from an eBay purchase recently. If it's Ground...you're basically screwed. Media Mail is faster.

Re: Longest you ever had to wait for a domestic online order?

Many people on a music forum I visit order CDs and vinyl from European labels/bands, and they are all reporting months long waits, so I'm glad it's not just me. I still have about three packages I'm waiting for from overseas, and one from the US. It's like in the old days, when you ordered stuff and had no idea how long or when your package would arrive. I didn't miss those days!

Re: Longest you ever had to wait for a domestic online order?

With Covid going on, I had a package go missing from about 4 hours north of me.

Took like 40+ days to arrive.

Re: Longest you ever had to wait for a domestic online order?

I don't know if it's THE longest wait, but I once ordered a CD from an Amazon seller that's 32.6 miles from the house I lived in at the time. They shipped it the same day, which was nice... only they shipped it via DHL SmartMail. It went from their suburban warehouse to the Charlotte-Douglas Airport, where it sat for 2 days before being sent to Hartsfield-Jackson where it sat for 4-5 days before being put on plane back to Charlotte-Douglas, where it sat for a couple more days before DHL delivered it to my local post office. I can't remember if it was 12 or 14 days total, but that was all shipping. According to my calculations, the CD traveled 528.6 miles to get to my home... 32.6 miles from where it started.

Re: Longest you ever had to wait for a domestic online order?

I'm now on Day 27. The package is stuck somewhere in Tennessee

I got the game for free using Sony rewards points. But, at this point, I would have been better off just paying for it out of pocket from Amazon or Best Buy. Good Lord this is pitiful and the item wasn't even backordered.

Re: Longest you ever had to wait for a domestic online order?

One time I waited more than a month for a DVD that some company put in the mail. Then I reported it missing, and they shipped a new copy. A week later, both DVDs arrived in my mailbox. The original package was covered with black rubber residue from conveyor rollers or something. I honestly think the second package knocked the first one loose.
